Excellent LCD TV
Did a lot of research on TVs before I decided to get this one. Was not excited about the 120hz TVs; do not like the soap opera/camcorder motion. I was debating if I should get the internet options with the apps on the other models, but I have a PS3 so it wasnt worth paying for the extra features. So I got this 60hz LCD and I have no regrets! The picture this TV produces are amazing, especially on Blu Ray. I watched my New Zealand vacation videos on it and it really brings out the colors and makes my video look even more movie like. Avatar looks amazing on it as well. I got it for $640 and worth every dime.

This is THE entry level TV!
Upon breaking the LCD panel in my previous Samsung TV, the LN4065F, I sent myself to Amazon in quest of a new TV. I wanted another Samsung, since their build and picture quality seem topnotch, but I also wanted something relatively entry-level as a cheap means of replacing my older TV.The Samsung LN40C530 delivers in both departments, and with astonishing results. At under 700usd at the time of my purchase, this set provides an excellent picture with extremely rich colors. There is no problem with backlight bleeding or color inconsistency either. Compared to my older TV set, this one has more of a semi-glossy screen with some matte properties. Most people would view a semi-matte screen bad over a very glossy screen, but the matte elements in the screen do a great job of ensuring the colors this panel provide are very deep and saturated in well-lit environments. I haven't bought a television in 13 years and I wanted to make sure I got one that would last me at least another decade without breaking the bank. I did my homework and waited patiently for a price dip on a Samsung, which all the reviewers say are the best. I picked this one up for just over $600 and I'm so happy with it! Personally, I'm not interested in the technology race--I just want great picture quality and a set that is reliable and easy to operate. UNBELIEVABLE VALUE!!!
Picked this up in a "pre"-black friday sale. I returned a Samsung Plasma and exchanged it for this LCD LN40B500. I originally bought a Samsung plasma because the salesman sold me on the "better contrast, blacks, and refresh rates of plasmas." Yeah whatever, got it home and absolutely hated the picture quality compared to my previous 720P Samsung LCD. When I saw this TV in a pre-black friday ad for $597 decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. The picture is absolutely amazing. I have watched many types of programs on it so far; movies, cartoons, sports, standard def, high def 1080i, upconverting DVD. All have been more than satisfying and select 1080i channels on FIOS have been absolutely breathtaking visually. Even though this is a 60 HZ model, I'm noticing no motion blur even in sporting events (this can be quite annoying in some "budget" LCD models) No worries, this set can easily handle quick pans and motion without even a hiccup, at least to my untrained eyes. With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. Great First LCD
After seeing the under $500 price for Black Friday, I figured that Samsung had put out a TV that would be a little cheaper in quality than their usual output. I am happy to say that if you do not require the highest tech and you are willing to enjoy a tv for what it is (a tv!) this will be a great addition to your home entertainment experience.I bought this tv as a starter tv for my new apartment. The next tv will be a little bigger and have more HDMI outputs and more options. This will then go into a different room and the cycle repeated. It's a great place to start and a great piece of Samsung technology. Don't let those that are all about technological aspects within the advancement of LCD, HDMI, Sound, and other aspects steer you wrong.

It's 'ok'
We purchased this tv as it was advertised for the Black Friday special at Sears. Samsung has an excellent reputation, don't make a mistake about that. But after our purchase, I found some reviews and the specs for the unit. AFTER the purchase. Some ppl love the TV, other ppl had issues with some of the input/output outlets and a few grumbles about the TV visual quality itself.The size of the TV is awesome (model LN40C500). We have an HD cable box and a blu-ray DVD player. I played around a little with the picture settings, still trying to maximize the calibration. For the non HD channels coming through my cable box, the difference IS noticable. My previous westinghouse TV made every channel pretty.So, bottom line, we may have upgraded on some things, but I'm not totally wowwed over. I think in retrospect, I would have invested the extra 50-100 bucks for the next model up.PS - no matter what any sales person says, the TV is in fact a 60hz...

Fantastic Image Display
The picture on this TV was stunning right out of the box. After a few minor adjustments it was as close to perfect as I could imagine. It came with the SQ01 panel and it would be hard to differentiate the color depth and quality from some of the plasma sets I looked at. The TV is in a very bright room and the matte screen cuts out glare with no picture degradation. The viewing angle is very good, though we are never more than 25 to 30 degrees off center. The picture is very stable from channel to channel with no change in the back lighting that I can see, and the standard definition picture is almost HD quality when using the 16:9 picture format. It has separate settings for processing speed and anti-judder for motion blur when using the Custom view mode, unlike the majority of sets that combine both settings into one. I watch a lot of sports and really don't notice motion blur at 60hz so its certainly not an issue at 120hz. I'm not a gamer, so for my viewing habits I see no need to...

A Home Theater Centerpiece
Firstly, it's important to point out that I was shopping strictly for a high quality 1080p display. I have a home theater with external speakers and an advanced learning remote so the TV's audio quality and stock remote played an insignificant role in my decision to purchase this model. Now then, the LN46C630 was the best 46" 1080p display I could find that had all the features I was looking for. My criteria were for a model with 120hz, an adequate amount of HDMI inputs (4), a pc input, largely tweakable picture controls, excellent black levels, an absence of motion blur, and a cost of under $1000. This TV possesses all of those things, and beat out the competition of similar LG and Sony models because of what I deemed to be the cleanest, most well defined image, along with superior black levels. It has great potential
I first ordered this set in early August and I really wanted to like this television. It is easy to set up, it has a good remote, and the built-in speakers are acceptable. At first glance, the picture is very good (once taken out of "torch mode" and the "soap opera effect" has been minimized by turning off (or minimizing) the Auto Motion Plus feature. The backlit remote is nice, but not *all* of the buttons are lit. I'm not sure why, and there were times when I needed the unlit ones. And, being unfamiliar with the remote, had to turn on/up the room lights to see what I was doing. But, the main problem I encountered with this set was the color uniformity.After having watched for a week and having some time to get past my initial awe at how good this set seemed to be, I noticed a flaw in the left side of the picture. Quirky DLNA, underwhelming documentation, but great picture and sound
I chose this model over other 32-inch LCDs because I'm a sucker for things like network streaming, a 5-band equalizer, picture-in-picture, and firmware updating. It also has a semi-documented headphone jack in the rear -- just turn off the speakers for it to work. Also, the power cable detaches, so you can replace that yourself.One might dismiss this TV altogether since it doesn't have LED edge lighting, but that tech does not appear to be earning its price premium so far, considering a higher percentage of panel defects, and a black level so intense that detail often gets lost. 60Hz is also not a deal-breaker, since 120Hz tends to only show its strength with sports programming.The picture quality is ultimately subjective, of course. But I found it well above average. Unfortunately, you can't completely disable Dynamic Contrast. Best TV I've personally seen in 2010 and 2011
For the last year I've been looking for a TV to replace my 2009 Samsung 26" LCD. It had what some people call "smudging" or "smearing" where if two really dark images move near one another, the black area would leave a trail. It looks sort of like when you make a dark circle with a pencil and run your finger over it. It made night scenes in movies and games really distracting. I even saw it in people with black hair watching 720p Lost episodes.From what I can tell so far, this set has none of it. I went through a Sony, a Toshiba, an LG, and another Samsung. All but the LG had this issue, and the LG had atrocious black levels due to it being a technically "better" IPS panel. I love my LG IPS monitors, but for TV it looks awful. So I stuck with Samsung's PVA panels, and boy am I glad I did.I immediately turned off all the video processing options and turned the backlight down from 14 to 8. I bought this item a few days ago after doing a multitude of research on flat screen TV's. Frankly, I was ready to be done! Our focus was finding a TV with an external width no larger than 37 5/8". We were faced with a limited selection of 37" TV's or some barely close 40" TV's. The 40" TV's that we had to choose from were LED and cost roughly $1000 or more. Rather than being faced with a close fit of an expensive TV, we decided 37" would suffice. Then we were caught between buying a Samsung or a Sony and whether to get LED or LCD. Great tv
Great tv! Looks very attractive, not too big, and blends well. Does not reflect very much light, and I am in a very bright room. Everything about this device is great. Only quams I have are, this model does not stream netflix, but that can be remidied with a new samsung blu ray(they stream netflix and start around $168). Great part about that is when you connect other samsung devices, they communicate together and have additional functionality. Thats a smart design. Only other problem is the upcoversion and the motion tracking could be better. But we are talking 60 hz so this is pretty good. I picked mine up for $600, and at that price, I would say it's the best and sexiest your gonna get.

Sleek tv with great picture quality
I got a great deal on this through Amazon, and am very pleased with this tv compared to the only other LCD I've owned, a smaller (26in) BB store brand. The Samsung HDTV is one of the most attractive flatscreens I've seen, with a sleek look and a useful swivel based. It's the first tv I've ever owned where I don't feel the need to keep it hidden away in a cabinet, it looks so good. I didn't really notice the "touch of red" until I moved the tv to a brighter room (where I've had no problems with glare or light reflecting on the tv), and it's a subtle touch that makes the tv stand out from others. Picture quality has been great for watching cable and dvds. I don't game, so can't comment on that. While I haven't noticed the audio clipping from all sources that another reviewer mentioned, the sound is a bit tinny for music videos.
