great value, great product
I added a layer of 1/4" pegboard on top of the slats. The holes in the pegboard allow the mattress to still breathe while giving better support than the slats. If you're mattress has individual pocket coils, you definitely need a better foundation than just the slats. Do what I did and use some cheap pegboard.Also, I dabbed a little thread locker onto the bolts before tightening everything together.

Solid quality item with streamlined good looks
I purchased this for my master bedroom after an order I placed with West Elm for a similar item became back ordered for 60 days. I needed a simple transitional / modern bed frame to compliment a floor to ceiling tufted headboard I am having made for my bed. This fit the bill perfectly. The finish is a rich espresso brown with red/burgundy undertones. The coloration is smooth and even across the frame. The pieces are solid wood and the support slats seem to be durable.Assembling the piece was not too hard but was definitely a two person job. I'm female and assembled it with the help of my sister in law because my hubby was out of town. Neither of us are used to assembling furniture AT ALL but were able to get the job done. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.Once completed, the frame looked great. It is sleek and attractive; a perfect foil for the more 'interesting' things I have going on in the room. I would definitely recommend this item...

Loving this bed
I've had this bed for about two months now and it is just what I had hoped for. It looks like the picture simple clean lines, and there is sufficient space under it for storage boxes. I needed a new bed for my memory foam mattress and so far this has been the perfect choice. It arrived promptly and was easy to set up. From the time I found the boxes on my porch to getting the bed set up with the mattress on took me an hour and a half, by myself. I was a little concerned about the slats when I read through the instructions, but when I pulled them out they were attached in order to a piece of fabric, they were also perfectly spaced. I just wished I'd had my electric screwdriver already charged. Really for the price I couldn't imagine anything better.

Modus Simple Platform bed
Love our new platform bed. Arrived in three boxes, all well packed and not a single ding or dent. Everything about this bed is solid. Beautiful hardwood with deep espresso finish, even the bed slates are solid wood. Easy to put together. We chose to forgo the box spring and just use the mattress, looks great, sleek low profile. The bed looks so good we ended up buying all new bedding as our old set just didn't do the bed justice. Great buy for the money.

Great Bed!
This is a REALLY nice bed at a great price. We did a LOT of online shopping and this bed got a lot of positive reviews on many different sites. I generally do not buy something like this site unseen but.... that was what a lot of other reviewers said who gave it positive reviews which made me comfortable to do the same.The set up was simple -- my 9 year old and I did it together in about an hour -- only because I didn't want to wait for my husband to come home!!! I would suggest that you read the directions all the way through first to make sure you understand them -- they were very vague but certainly understandable if you take the time to "digest" them.I had read from other reviewers that they suggested to put an extra support down the middle slat. I didn't realize until reading another person's review that the feet on the center supports are adjustable. Many people "complained" that the feet didn't touch the floor which is true but there is a remedy --...

Very pleased
The queen bed I ordered came exactly as described. It's a pretty bed, and it feels solid/sturdy. It was well packed .. no dings or scratches. The assembly instructions could be a little more dummy friendly, for folks like me, but it wasn't too difficult to manage. There are adjustable bolts on the bottoms of the middle support legs so you can find the right height you need, or allow for a little 'give'.

Love it, but scratches EASILY
The bed arrived on time & was packed well. Assembly wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, we managed to scratch the bed in one spot with a fingernail. Yes, a fingernail. The bed looks great now, but it will be a challenge to keep it that way. Overall we're satisfied given the price.

Nice bed
The delivery company twice stuck a forkblade lift through the delivered boxes, but that's not Modus' fault - it's Amazon's delivery company, and they refuse to use another.The bed is sturdy, handsome, fairly easy to put together (even though the instructions fell out through a blade hole, so I had to make do with similar but different instructions from the website. Had some problems aligning the slats due to that.Otherwise though, very nice bed.

Stylist, sturdy, value for money, but couple of minor dings on delivery
The pieces were nicely packaged and delivered. The delivery guys were nice enough to put the packages in my bedroom even though I had opted for a curb-side delivery. There is one dent in the side-rail (about 3/4 inch big), and two other minor dings when the packages were delivered (hence the 4 stars, or else it would easily be 5). The instructions are to the point and pretty easy. If you've never laid out slats before, this might be intimidating. Better get a person to help you with it, if you've never done it before. If you are the type who wont rest knowing that not all slats are screwed in, then this is not the bed for you. There are 12 slats and I could screw in only 6 of them. The instructions say that not all need to be screwed in. If you follow the instructions, you can probably assemble this by yourself and with some help from some thick books (to keep the side rails up when fixing it to the hearboard and footboard). Modus Nevis Bed
I recently purchased this bed online after agonizing for weeks over it. I needed a new bed for a guest room, so I didn't want to spend a lot. I figured a platform bed would be the best bet, as the mattress and box spring we were going to use was about 15" high. I really don't like buying something I haven't seen in person, but I watched a product video, looked at swatches online (magnified), read ALL the reviews I could find on the product, and was encouraged by people online saying the bed was beautiful, etc. etc. I was more concerned that the company I was buying it through, CSN, might not be that reliable, as people seemed to be very critical about them. Many reviewers talking about CSN don't seem to understand that they are NOT the manufacturer of the products being ordered, and are actually a dropshipper, meaning they are a go-between for the manufacturer and the consumer. They shouldn't be blamed for flaws in the PRODUCT. I tried finding the Modus Nevis bed in a retail...

Will Need SuperGlue
We didn't have a whole lot of money after we bought our memory foam mattress, so we were looking for a platform bed frame on a budget. This one matched the headboard from our previous full-size bed, so I decided to take a chance on it.I ordered on December 19th, and the tracking status said it would be delivered to Philadelphia (about an hour away from us) on December 24th (Christmas Eve). This was a bit confusing, but I found out later that the shipping company, CEVA, ships to a local warehouse and makes an appointment before bringing it to your home. Awesome furniture find at a great price.
I purchased this bed in CA king size for my memory foam mattress & was pleasantly surprised! It is beautiful and sturdy. No particle board. Nice espresso finished hardwood with glides pre-installed on all the legs, so it's easy to move around. Slatted platform is securely screwed to frame for stability, evenly spaced with connecting double ribbons.Not only was it shipped fast, it was easy to transport (3 boxes) & assemble -- minor issue with 2 predrilled holes not lining up (easily remedied with drill).I assembled it upside down & flipped it over with no trouble & I'm 5'2"& a weakling.Spectacular & cost far less than ugly plastic/metal bed foundations.
