Great lil sander
Ive sanded 2 vehicles with this sander and still works great. Im sure that it will perform well on wood as well. With the right paper. Has much more power than I expected. My former sander was a Matco that cost better than 200. and it out performs it easily.

aggressive sander!
Let me start by saying that I have never been really fond of aggressive sanders... I am a hutchins kind of guy who likes that nice smooth feel... <sigh> HOWEVER, that nice smooth feeling sander that I love is not practical in all instances! For example, getting body work done quickly. I paint Helicopters, and we are ALWAYS under the gun. Most recently, we were told that the job we were supposed to have for 12 days was needed in 8, so we had to push extra hard. This sander can do no wrong with that!It works as well as the $250 snap-on, the National Detroit, the Dynabride, but if I was going to offer any kind of advice... The small body enables the sanding pad to get into some harder to reach places that other sanders won't be able to reach.IF you are not going to hook it up to a vacuum attachment, buy a cheap pad that you won't mind chewing up around screws and rivets! It is what I did, and I am glad that I did.. Someday I might be able to use this...

The 4151, like most random orbit sanders, features an oscillating sanding pad that also rotates so that the sanding pattern differentiates for even surface wear. Unlike most orbit sanders, though, the 4151 extracts dust and particles through and around the pad when it’s in use, keeping foreign matter away from the motor and helping to reduce the number and severity of clogs. The vacuum sanding pad features a unique design and large 1/2-inch diameter holes for efficient operation--virtually all dust is instantly channeled away from the work, increasing visibility and improving overall quality.

inaccurate description
This sander is advertised as a 5" sander but actually came with a 6" backup. It's a excellent sander. It's unfortunate I purchased 5" discs based on the product description
