Crystal Clear
I recently had to change my surround sound set up due to placement of a new flat screen. I purchased the Mythos Seven to replace my Klipsch C2 center channel speaker. I was very impressed with the overall sound quality and the clarity of voices. At times with my old set up voices were hard to hear depending on what was going on in the movie. With the Mythos center I have not had this problem. Also, the size of the speaker was great with my set up. The speaker was small enough to fit on my mantle underneath the TV. I was so impressed with the speakers that I have decided to purchase the Mythos five to compliment the center.

Definitive Delivers Again!
I needed a low-profile center channel to replace my bulkier DefTech older speaker (ProCenter100) and chose this one based on price and dimensions.I had no worries about choosing DefTech again b/c I have owned a 5.1 sytem from them since 2000, and have been absolutely satisfied since day one! They also just recently sent me replacement parts at no cost to fix a damaged satellite speaker and the process was exceptional with their customer service department!Let's face it - If you love GREAT sound and service you can brag about to your friends who aren't audiophile nerds, and you yourself are as close to an audiophile nerd as I am, don't blow your money on other systems/speakers. Wow!
Just got my dt mythos 3, I replaced a Crewin Vega e-76c. I was excited to hear it as soon as i picked it up out of the box. The speaker is the heaviest speaker i have come accross. Heavy usually means big coils! I cranked up the sound and sharp sound and range was noticeable. For the price you can't beat this speaker. I am extremely happy with my purchase. The desgin, manufacturing quality and sound make it obvious that dt takes pride in thier products. Almost went with bose vc-10. Haha i bought one listened to it and sent it back. Listened to the mythos and married it.

Very Full sound
I have two home theater setups in my house. One is a 5.1 and the other is a 7.1. Both systems have Cambridge Soundworks suuround sound speakers. My 7.1 system uses a Yamaha receiver that has HDMI so I utilize it, along with my PS3, to get HD audio through Blu-Ray. I was noticing that I was not getting a full sound from my center channel which was a CS MC150 center speaker. I tried switching it with my other CS center speaker from my older 5.1 setup but saw no difference. In my opinion, the sound was very tinny. And for a center channel, you don't want that since it is the primary speaker for home theater.I decided that I had made a mistake by not investing in a better center channel so I started looking for a replacement. A neighbor of mine has the Definitive Tech. Pro Cinema 600 setup and it sounds pretty good compared to my setup. The center channel seemed a bit small so I hit the local Magnolia to check out other center speakers. I tried brands such as Mirage,...

Best Center near the money
I purchased this center channel after weeks of looking for the best sound at an affordable cost. After hearing many items from Klipsch, Polk, Infinity, Mirage, Bose (boo)....the clear choice was this ProCenter 1000. Nothing within $200 dollars of this speaker (besides the 2000)sounded within the same star system to me. I didn't stop at it the first time around though, I checked different setups at different Bestbuy locations because the rooms sizes differ. This speaker always impressed me. Don't waste your time on the center channels between $100-350 ($350 or so for the ProCenter 2000). If you don't want to fork out $350 or give up the extra space, get the 1000.

really nice upgrade if your looking for a new center in this price range
I bought this by reading reviews here and a million other places.. I spend hours upon hours reading up on products before i purchase them. I finally decided on this center channel was my best choice for the price range. I was not dissapointed, it put my old infinity center to shame. I soon after purchased two Promonitor 1000's to match the center because my old speakers just got blown away by this center. I'm very happy with my purchases.

excellent quality
I ordered this speaker on the recommendation of a home theater guru. Amazing that amazon sells this speaker in black for $1000 and silver is like half the price. Supply and demand... The grill is black anyway and the silver while great looking is barely visible in my application. This is one hell of a speaker. i have always bought Polk and boston acoustics and these are great speakers. This however, is in a class above. Very crisp sound. I am currently using it with an additional set of rear speakers and a sub. Once the amp was calibrated and all the levels were set appropriately for the speaker positions this speaker really shined. The sound is very full and clear. The construction of this speaker is also exceptional. Full cast aluminum body you can just tell it is high quality. The only down side i would say is the packaging from the factory, not amazon. Because of the weight of this speaker it could have benefitted from more insulation, mine arrived with slight damage...

A High-End Bargain!
In our house now I couldn't really do a real 5.1 set up so I researched this Single Speaker Array and was pleased enough with the reviews on home theater sites to let this be in my final choice category. Being a 50% off sale sealed the deal. It turned out to be an awesome choice! I bought this for TV and movie watching.First of all this speaker is well made. It is clean and solid. It is also really heavy, heavier than I expected. The casing is metal and has a soft brushed look. The speaker cover is tight and smooth the whole way through. The mounting system is simple but strong, and the additional parts for it to stand on it's own uses the wall mount and makes it so you can adjust it to point where you need it to, make it level without scratching up anything.As mentioned by someone before, if you can do a real surround sound setup then do it, but if you can't this would work great. It tricks your ear by using L/C/R+RL/RR channels. You will have to run all five...

Great sound and looks
Definitive's Mythos SSA-50 has great sound and looks but not great surround sound. If surround sound is your overriding concern, stick with traditional SS speakers. For those of us who want more simplicity in our home theater speakers, setup is a breeze. The SSA-50 provides clear dialog and very good quality music and effects. Although the sound does not wrap quite enough to give a true sense of surround sound, it does provide a very broad sound stage. My home theater room measures 26 feet in width and the SSA-50 provides a sense of sound across all 26 feet. I have it paired with a Sony KDL46W4100 and find the match is nearly perfect, although Definitive markets the SSA-50 for 50 inch and larger flat panel TVs. My TV is mounted in a shallow black cabinet and the speaker sits on a shelf directly below the TV. The speaker virtually disappears into the background. You do need a subwoofer for deep bass. Stereo listening from CDs is excellent.

Okay, So this is what higher end-speakers sound like...
I can't say I am an audiophile because usually I try to spend under $500.00 a speaker. I do love audio, but haven't every been able to shell out the big bucks. I have been looking at Definitive Technology Speakers for years. My HT and Audio magazines always seem to praise them. Wonderful full sound. Crisp highs, warm mids, decent bass for speakers this size. Build Quality is fantastic, Wall mounting was easy. I am using them for a workout room. They would be great for a HT setup. Binding posts were flexible. So...some may argue that I am not really in the realm of high-end, but these speakers make me feel that it cant get much better.

Definitiv-ly 'NOT' Bose
I had to write this review, for the same reason I got slammed for thinking my Bose Acoustimass 15s were as good as high end speakers. Well, I listened to someone on the 'Amazon Speaker Community' and gave a listen to Definitive Speakers just for the fun of it. First I have to apologize to the one who thought my ears needed tuning. I'm sorry I don't remember your name, but you were correct. I did some researching for prices, since Mythos 2s are 549.00 EACH! I stumbled back on Amazon and found them here in SILVER for 199.00 EACH!(Silver Only). I did the math and ordered 5 of the 2s.(Thank you Amazon!) I was not too impressed with the Def Cube Sub though. I did find a Polk Micro 1000 I liked. But it was 1,000.00. So, I did another search, this time bringing me to [...]. The Polk Micro Sub was on sale for 349.00. So, I jumped on it! Now, to the point. Good potential, but you NEED a subwoofer
I bought a pair of Mythos Two speakers to replace an old pair of PSB Alpha A/Vs that I use for watching TVs and listening to music. After 30-50 hours of breaking-in, I can tell you that there's the POTENTIAL for some really good sound here, but by themselves, the Mythos Two speakers will leave you disappointed.The crux of the problem is that these things have no bass. The specs say they go down to 35Hz, but they're not even close...my Alphas go down to 65Hz, and they definitely have much more bass than these. I'd love to get a meter on these things to see just how low they go...maybe 100Hz if you're lucky. I've heard that DefTech is a little "optimistic" with their frequency numbers, and these speakers are definitely proof of that.However, mids do sound pretty good. Vocals can jump out at you with surprising realism...while working on other things, I was twice startled by how real a voice in a song sounded. The highs are pretty decent as well...

Great sound from a slim, low profile speaker
5 stars based on a fuller range sound coming from a slender design speaker used in a small room when large box towers are not an option. I still prefer large box towers when space is not an issue but those with space limitations should check these out.1. Packaging was very good, double boxed, secure and no issues with shipping.2. The STS was an upgrade from my old fronts, Mythos ones. I read great reviews online about the STS and ST and was impressed when I heard them in person. The upgrade made a big difference, the STS really do sound like big speakers with a wide dynamic range which was missing with the Mythos Ones (even with a supercube 1), the Ones sounded thin and small. If space is an issue or the wife won't let you get those big box towers then check out the STS and ST, I was pleasantly surprised.3. I'm running STS as fronts, Mythos 10 as a center, supercube 1, gems as surrounds in a small room (corner placement of plasma TV). No option but...

STS's
I own 4 Mythos STS's a center channel Mythos Ten 2 Mythos gem xl's and 2 super cube reference sub woofers along with a Denon 4308CI for a full 7.2 setup. These speakers are unbelievable. The bass my 4 STS's combined put out is very powerful!!! so powerful that I really have no need to turn on my 2 subs which are 1,800 watts apiece. With the 4 STS's combined I have a total of 1,200 watts of subs. The sound I get is very very forceful and in your face!! You don't just hear your favorite music and movies you feel it!!! God help me and my neighbors if I decide to turn on my two Super cube Reference Subs. Voice quality is phenomenal sometimes it sounds as if the person is right there in the room with me. They excel at every type of music And when I say I listen to everything I mean it, They do a perfect job from the synthesizer's of the 80's and some of my favorites like the Cars and The Talking Heads to the organs of Janis Joplin and Al Green and the great sounds of Thin Lizzy the Beatles...

Great Speakers!
I'm just using a pair in stereo now, and these speakers sound great. The bass is awesome. I like the fact that I didn't have to mess with crossover frequency - it's built in. Also, having two "subwoofers" minimizes the chances of a bass void or peak in my room. They look good, too, but might be a little "tippy" if the cat takes an interest.
