Great resource to keep track of how often to apply sunscreen
I used these beads to create a great resource to know when and how often to apply sunscreen. I created about 200 keychains and put 5 UV beads per key chain to hand out to the public at a healthfair that my school put on and everyone loved them. When you put sunscreen on yourself, you also need to put it on the beads and the beads will turn white. When the sunscreen wears off and the beads turn multicolored, you need to reapply sunscreen. Now people can't say they don't know when to reapply or how often throughout the day because these beads show them when. It's just like magic and everyone loves magic!

Fun!
These beads are sure to delight anyone who is remotely young at heart. They change colors in the sun, or under my household lamps (which is convenient when you're trying to choose certain colors to make a bracelet). This package comes with plenty of beads for a variety of projects. I made several adult-size hemp bracelets and each bracelet required only 11 beads. If you were to simply string them on an elastic cord to make a bracelet, I estimate you would need about 24 beads per bracelet. In other words, this package gives you a lot of bang for your buck!

Great tool to teach kids about UV rays and sun protection
I'm a 4-H Leader and I taught a group of 3rd graders about Sun protection. I used to beads for our last lesson. The students made bracelets and went nuts when they exposed it to the sun.

yay! Sun beads!
I love these beads. I still have a bunch left from the pack I bought. They change colors in the sun. I made bracelets for all my friends (and yes I am in college) and they loved them too. So much fun, and a good product to teach kids about the sun. Would be great for a school project for young kids.

Careful with shipping fee
Good product, just be careful, as shiping price may go high in the sky, the package can fit easily in your fist, so if you want value go for this:Holes in the 1400 beads are smaller, but you are really getting a bunch of them, the package for the 1400 is about 15x10cm (about 6"x4") while the "value" one is 1.5"x3" (maybe enough for one kid). Same colors in both products.

pink and purple
The beads do change color, and they fade fast. The colors in the bag may be limited and not mentioned on the label. Since they were only a few pennies plus shipping I am not too disappointed, but do look carefully for the colors in the listing and ask before you buy if you are looking for something specific.

these beads work great!
We had received a sample of these beads after purchasing another product from the Steve Spangler site. I believe that these are the exact same beads that we received from Steve Spangler (but less expensive than sold on the SS site).I bought these for my daughter when she was a counselor at a camp. Her little campers were thrilled when they saw how the beads changed color in the sunlight. They change color very quickly and the brighter the sun, the brighter the beads got. I'm 100 percent happy with this product!

I learned more about UV rays from this product than any book
When my father died of skin cancer, I wanted to learn more about just how much UV ray exposure I was getting. I purchased these beads and made a bracelet for myself. I was amazed to find out just how often I was being exposed to UV rays (even on extremely overcast days). These beads taught me more than any book could have. They all change color pretty well with the exception of the yellow beads -- all the rest get an A+ in my book.

I really liked the beads and the arrived quickly. My only complaint is that for the value I would have expected more beads. They got their supply from Steve Spangler which sells the same product at the same price but you get more. Other than that I would pass on the info to fellow friends and suggest this vendor as they were very quick at mailing and responding to my email.
