a good staff with no splinters
Solidly built, even specifications (i.e. uniform thickness), smooth with basically no chance you'd get splinters even if you regularly use your bare hands on the surface. I use the pole exclusively for stretching, and I find the full 6 feet necessary to to over-the-shoulder exercises holding the pole perpendicular to my height (i.e. not up-and-down but across.) Weight of pole gives it a "solid" feel.

Great bo staff!!
While this was one of the first bo staffs that I purchased, and I have given it a beating, it has served me well. Perfect as a walking stick, the taper is very nice! A little bit of a curve, but I can't take a star away for that. It is a very good looking weapon. Used a butane lighter to mark center of gravity for training purposes.Highly recommend the purchase of this staff to any customer!

Good staff, but not quite suited for the form I was learning
This is a quality staff, of traditional waxwood. The only problems with it stem from that. My staff came with a few knots in it and points where it was slightly irregularly shaped, and it arrived with a small chip out near the tip (I think due to a knot that resulted in some loose wood). More oddly, because of the staff's natural taper, it's noticeably wider at one end than the other -- with the result that the staff's point of balance is about a third of the way from wide end, rather than in the center.None of those things are necessarily critical problems -- in fact, that kind of taper is exactly what you want for some forms -- but they're something to be aware of, and if your form needs a more evenly-balanced staff, this one won't be quite suitable.

Excelent Jo Staff.
I ordered the 72" version of this Jo staff and was very surprised at just how durable it appeared to be. Placing it atop a stool, I was able to put a considerable amount of pressure against this thin looking piece of wood, without any damage whatsoever. I would highly recommend this staff to anyone, who thinks that it will actually see real martial arts action.

Good product
This product is very nice. It arrived a couple days late, but still good. It is darker than in the pictures they show and is easily scratched. All in all i would buy from them again, just know every product has at least one small drawback so this is nothing to worry about.

Decent lightweight Bo Staff
I ordered two of these when looking for a staff to do some training with a friend of mine and they've held up fairly well given their relatively low price when compared to the alternatives. After a week or so that included several hours of somewhat intense sparring, they've splintered lightly, but seem like they'll be able to take quite a few more months of the same before I'll have to replace them. I'm 5'7", my friend is 5'10", and we both feel the 66" staff was the right choice.

Definitely NOT 66"
So I ordered this for a Poseidon costume for Halloween thinking that the length would be perfect and that I wouldn't need to alter it at all. I was wrong. I measured the length and it is actually 35" and there is a barb at the bottom that has been cut off in the picture. Aside from my disappointment in the advertised length, there was a slight variation in color, but I understand that. It is a good thing I am an artist and can easily change it to suit my needs but I thought fair warning was in order.

On another levee issue, the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works unanimously approved legislation to designate one superintendent for the three separate levee district police forces under the authority of the Southeast... Jeff Arnold, D-Algiers, the sponsor of the bill, expanded the measure with unanimous consent of the House to extend the furniture-buying privilege to the judges of the more than 40 district courts in the state. Garofalo said the bill would save the state at least $280,000 over a three-year period by creating one superintendent to run three police agencies instead of having three different chiefs. Nick Lorusso, R-New Orleans, was blocked 49-46, four short of passage, by representatives worried that it could affect levee protection measures throughout the state. Garofalo said that without the bill, a new chief might have to be named to run the Orleans levee police. That change stirred up residents near the 17th Street Canal, who have been waging a legal battle to get compensation for the original 6-foot area they say was improperly taken after Hurricane Katrina breached the flood protection in the area. The new superintendent would also oversee the one officer assigned to the St. Bernard Parish-based Lake Borgne Levee District department as well as the two other agencies. Lorusso's bill only applies to non-navigable waterways that flow from Lake Pontchartrain, but representatives worried it could be interpreted broadly and compromise flood protection in their districts. Lorusso's measure sought to roll back an expansion of a buffer zone on levees from 6 feet to 15 feet.
