Fun for All Ages!
I was bored enough the other day that I decided I wanted to try out this game. I gotta say, there are an awful lot of negative reviews out there on it so I was a bit nervous that I wasted my money. I've been addicted to it! There are so many stages of life to play with, you can start out with your species as an embryo and take them all the way to evolving so much they can travel in space!It's not a game you can beat overnight because the stages take a while, it involves either becoming allies with other species on the planet (You can select any one of the multiple planets they provide) or conquering them into extinction. If you connect your game to the internet you can download other people's creations, houses, city halls, creatures, vehicles, land vehicles and others, tribes, and much much more. You also get to visit other users' species on the planet instead of just maxis defaults. But even with Maxis defaults, you will probably never play the game and start a new...

Spore is endless entertainment for my kids
The Amazon price for the download version of Spore was the cheapest anywhere. The download took a while, but has worked almost perfectly. My kids really enjoy creating creatures on the game. It was definitly worth it. I would give it five stars, but there are some bugs in the game which sometimes cause it to freeze up. Thanks again Amazon.

Great Game
Played both the Steam Beta of this game and the open Beta offered by EA and before they even released all the nuances of the game I fell in love. A great dungeon crawler game, with the added caveat that there is a squadding system that allows the play of up to 3 "heroes" on a single level. It starts out easy but as you approach level 3-4 and pass it get ready for some serious strategy play, item customization and co-op play should you wish to have some company. PVP system is pretty nice, only played a couple of games and got trounced, but wasn't in the pvp mindset just wanted to see what it offered. Has solid potential and hardcore gamers could find quite a nice niche in its gameplay style to forge the perfect squad and dominate kiddies all day. Like most dungeon crawlers it can be repetitive at times, but with the co-op play and the ability to make unique squads and unlock new "heroes" it can help wash off some of that tedium. There are two basic ways to follow up one game with another: an out-and-out sequel, which runs the risk of either being too much like the original or leaving off some cherished feature the fans of the original loved; and then there's the "spiritual successor": a 'like' game that is similar to, but not directly tied to, the original (like Bioshock and System Shock 2).Darkspore is more of the latter--it is only barely tied to the Spore universe at all and only vaguely plays like a Spore game. It's still tons of fun to play, don't get me wrong, but if you're expecting a multi-stage Sims-style world creator...well, this is more like a Diablo-esque, Dungeon-Siege-y game. Darkspore Review
When Darkspore was first announced, people really didn't know what to expect from it. It was touted as a dungeon style RPG (like Diablo) but also with a collectable aspect like Pokemon and a creature editor that is almost identical to Spore (they did make it after all). It was also a PC exclusive so the PC crowd got really excited that they were getting an exclusive game that wouldn't simply be created subpar in order to port to a console. As someone who loved the first two games mentioned and sorta kinda liked Spore, I figured I would give it a shot and see how it played. It really works!
I applied Milky Spore to all of our garden areas around the house becaue the softer ground was where we were seeing the grubs. After a year and half I can say we have seen a 90% reduction in the number of grubs in our garden soil. My wife and I are very happy with the product as we try to avoid using strong chemicals where we are unsure of long term health issues.

Expensive, but seems to work.
It seems to be effective, although it can take several weeks to see a noticeable effect on those grubby little buggers. I put in a raised bed garden in the fall at a new home with trucked in soil due to the very thin layer of top soil over my basically limestone sub"soil" here in central Texas. After letting the heavily prepared soil sit over the winter I was ready for a great spring crop of veggies. I carefully planted my started-from-seed crops, picked just for this climate, only to see the healthy seedlings start to take off, then as soon as it warmed up they just stopped growing, withered, and some died. Spring was moving towards summer so I decided to bite the bullet and replace them with healthy nursery plants.I was horrified as soon as I dug out the first plant. The garden was FILLED with grubs. In a single square foot I sifted out 52 grubs. I pulled out most of the plants in the 4 raised beds as I hand dug through the beds sifting out all grubs that I could see. It was...

So far very good!
Our raised veggie beds were infested with big, fat grubs. After waiting for a few weeks and not wanting to spend the money I finally got sick of seeing those creepy things in the soil and ordered Milky Spore. My husband applied it to the veggie beds and a few other planted areas around the house. About one month later, I was tilling the beds, preparing to plant a mid-season crop, and I started finding them: dead grubs. Loads of them. It was horrifying. It was fantastic. They're just all ... dead. My carrots still tasted wonderful, and I'm still alive, so I'm going to go ahead and vouch for the claim that Milky Spore only affects the grubs and not people or plants. I highly recommend this for grub control!

Pretty good expansion with an odd price
(I'm Deborah's daughter who owns the game)EA must enjoy releasing expansion packs (especially if you take a look at The Sims and The Sims 2) because the game wasn't released that long before an expansion pack came out.I, luckily, received this as a Christmas present and enjoy it. Please read the summary of the game first! You'll see that it only adds new parts hence the mini title "Parts Pack."It contains new mouths, feet, hands, mini accessories and paint. The only real reason why you should get the game is if you're a big time creator or you just like seeing different types of creatures in your game.If you're looking for all new game play, different levels, new story lines then forget it. Don't buy it and then complain on Amazon saying how this game "lied" to you or something.The price for it is a bit questionable. Not much for your money - but will allow you to download more
I guess my opinion of Spore and particularly the new Creepy & Cute Parts Pack falls in the middle. For your $20, you get a few parts, a few animations and a few paint options you didn't have before. Not a whole lot, and nothing at all beyond the Creature Stage. I understand that the Creature Stage was the target for this parts pack, I just would've liked to have seen more content for the price. The nice thing is if you get this parts pack, you will be able to download all creations made with it. You won't if you don't.
