One hell of a ride
Slugs is one of those movies that scared the hell out of me as a kid.It made me check my food before eating it and made me think twice before sitting of the toilet. It's about mutated killer slugs that eat people. That's sounds kinda corney, but it works. The gore in this films is fantastic from a hand being cut off to a man's head exploding with worms. The special effects in this movie are very well done.I'd recommend you not watch this movie alone in the dark.Don't say I didn't warn you.

Why, there are Slugs that know karate!
Go ahead. Be a bad influence. Give this book to a child. In a day when children's literature seems full of tiresome passivism, and as full of sermons as any Victorian tract, it's a fine and excellent thing to see a children's book that talks about what they want to hear. Like putting slugs in a blender. Or gluing them to your sister. If this seems lacking in Moral Instruction, take note that those who mistreated slugs get their comeuppance by the book's end. I got this book for my nieces, and it soon became one of their favourites. And let's face it, this is a lot healthier for them to furnish their minds with than -Bambi-.

All time family classic
This book is highly humerous to those children who are old enough or have such a dispostion to understand it's humor. This includes the overwhelming majority of the children I've read it to. I've read this book to so many children in my extended family that I'm now ordering my fourth copy. All the others were read to tatters. To the minority of usually younger children who do not understand it, a little explanation is all that is necessary; People aren't supposed to do what it talks about in the book - it's only supposed to make you laugh when you think about what the book is saying. This aids in their enjoyment of not only this book, but much of the humor they'll encounter later in their lives. A must have for any well rounded child. A true classic, and always in great demand with kids.

A Great Book I Often Give As a Gift!
Anyone who doesn't take life too seriously can benefit from reading SLUGS. I often give this book as a gift to both children and adults. And the stuffed slug that accompanies the book is an able promoter for this oft-maligned creature.

"The salad did taste a little salty."
Seems the town of Ashton has a dilemma...their plumbing is gummed up and emitting foul, stank odors...perhaps you're thinking they're got too much red meat in their diet and saddled with those lousy low-flow toilets...and you might be right, but that's not the cause of their woes. No, their trouble stems from an amassing army of hideous, ginormous, voracious, mutated, carnivorous, slimy, sewer dwelling, gastropod mollusks, otherwise known as slugs...Slugs: The Movie (1987) aka Slugs, muerte viscosa, co-written and directed by Juan Piquer Simón (Monster Island, The Pod People), features Michael Garfield (The Warriors), Santiago Álvarez (Star Knight), Philip MacHale ("Madigan Men"), Alicia Moro (Golden Balls), Emilio Linder (Amazons in the Temple of Gold), Concha Cuetos ("Onassis: The Richest Man in the World"), and John Battaglia (Mutant Man). The film begins the killing quickly, as a couple in a boat get kakked, followed quickly by a bum, into two, seemingly...

"Slugs" is J.P. Simon's "Plan 9"
Every country has its own self-delusional hack when it comes to genre films: In Italy, it's Bruno Mattei ("Night of the Zombies"). In the US, it's the once-great Tobe Hooper ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2", "Spontaneous Combustion", "The Mangler"). And in Spain, it's Juan Piquer Simon, the type of director who you can almost see watching the daily playback of his films, smiling with Ed Woodsian delight over how WELL things are going."Slugs" is probably one of Piquer Simon's better films, and that's only if it's viewed for laughs. Really, carnivorous slugs making progress through a small town, eating up everyone in their path? Gimme a break. This tripe is directed with an obviously straight face, but neither the actors nor script are up to the challenge, so most of it comes across as unintentionally comic (thank God). You get the Health Inspector who's aware of the problem but whom no one believes, his Sewer Cleaning(?) buddy...

The best stuff !
I discovered Sluggo about 8 years ago, when I purchased a 15 pound bag online. It cost me a little over $70.00, and it was worth every penny ! I just now had to reorder, and ordered this 2.5 pound shaker canister. I also have dogs, and, it is completely safe. I can't say this loud enough, I HATE SLUGS ! They are so gross ! Anyway, we really enjoy our yard, and the slugs made it just yucky. Well, sprinkle a little sluggo around, just before it rains (and, just before dark, so birds don't eat it... they think it's food, although, it doesn't seems to hurt them, but, you don't want to lose your Sluggo...lol), and, wait a few weeks later, and do it again... that's all you have to do ! We can go months and months and not see a slug ! When we do, we know it's time to sprinkle a little more around. Now we just have to treat the edges of our yard to keep slugs from coming in from other yards. Our yard is basically slug free. Sluggo really works.

Fantastic product
This is a product that I can recommend with confidence. I had tried a variety of products and gadgets to solve my slug problem to no avail The beer pans was expensive, wasteful, messy and ineffective. Other snail killers were dangerous to use around my dog. I was so tired of the slugs destroying my daylilies and hostas, that I overcame my revulsion and would pick them off my hand at night. I quickly discovered that sleep would be a thing of the past if I expected to defeat the little blighters. But then I found Sluggo and my problem was solved. Apparently the slugs love this product, eat it, then can't eat anymore, and quickly die of starvation. Best of all, it's safe to use around pets and children. Now the blooms of my daylilies are bite free and the foliage of my hostas are beautiful. Thank you Sluggo!!

Great Science and a Charming Read!
I'm a fan of all things wriggly, squiggly and slimy, but even if you're not there's something for everyone in this book. Gordon brings the reader through the science of snails and slugs, with detailed information about common species found in North America and gets into their biology and life history. But throughout the book there are anecdotes from scientists who work with these animals all the time, poems, quotes and interesting factoids. Fildes' illustrations are at once full of personality and reminiscent of an old school lab book; they're fantastic.Gordon (a.k.a. The Bug Chef) also explores snails and slugs as food sources. Need a recipe for escargot? It's in here. Want to keep them in captivity, as a slower, lower-maintenance relaxation fish tank? Gordon writes about the set-up and care of these animals as pets. Are you a gardener who fights with these mollusks over your tomatoes? This book provides some answers and some information on what snails and slugs...

BUY Slugs

Buy Slugs

Place a couple of drops of each of cedar oil, rose geranium oil, orange oil, lemon eucalyptus oil and cinnamon oil. Flies, Fleas, Ticks and Mosquitoes As well as using citronella oil either as a spray or a candle, you can also make your own concoction using natural essential oils to get rid of flies, fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. Slugs and Snails There is nothing more annoying than making the effort to plant your summer bulbs, watching them grow and then noticing that they have been attacked by an army of snails or slugs. One environmentally friendly way to repel moths is to buy cedar chips and place them in cloth or muslin squares and leave them in places where moths tend to gather. Wasps Wasps are territorial insects so if you notice them near you home trying to build a nest, you can buy a false nest called ‘the waspinator’. There are several types of eco friendly slug pellets which you can buy from garden centres or online. You can make these chips yourself from natural cedar oil and bark chippings, but if you cannot be bothered, they are available to buy ready made. Insects in the home and garden can be a nightmare and it can be difficult to deal with them if you have pets or small children as many insect repellents are toxic to humans and animals and can be extremely harmful to the environment. Add carrier oil such as almond oil and make up your own spray pump. The slugs and snails love the scent from the beer and will be climb into it. The beer will drown them but they will die happy.

Slug Designer 2 sacrifices the pointless Life Stories from the original Slug Designer for something even better - WAY MORE slug customization and features. When you save a slug, you are given a code that you can then copy and paste wherever you like - an email to a friend, your blog, a public comments section, whatever, and then whoever copies that code and pastes it into Slug Designer 2 can see your... But they're not just simple cartoon slugs - with Slug Designer 2 you can create a slug that looks like almost anybody, or anything. *Slug Codes from the original Slug Designer are not compatible with this version, and vice versa.

These plant enemies can become stored in the ground, ready to attack your plants the following year. When running your organic garden in the winter time, make a tent in your garden by using home materials. Plants are bound to be healthier if placed in healthier soil, therefore they will be able to avoid diseases as well as damage that can be caused by insects. Use compost instead of fertilizer that you buy at the store. If slugs are an issue in your garden, a beer trap can make them go away. Benefits of using organic methods, as opposed to inorganic methods include, less use of toxic chemical buildups in drinking water and in the soil as well. The layer of mulch will also minimize evaporation, reducing your need to water as frequently as you would a garden without mulch. Slugs are attracted by the beer and won’t be able to exit the jar once they enter. Use a glass jar buried in the soil so the rim of the jar is at ground level. Place them about one or two inches deep into the soil pointed upwards and four inches apart. Plant single garlic cloves during the spring or fall seasons in soil that is moist and well drained. Green garlic can be cur directly from the plant and used in a pinch instead of scallions or chives. After you have placed the jar in the soil, fill with beer to approximately one inch of the top. The optimal amount of organic mulch to use in your flower beds is 2-3 inches.
