The Best MMORPG
We've been play EQ2 since release, and we've tried all the others hoping for a true next-gen product. There just is no game better than this one. If you haven't played in a while, give yourself a treat and try it out again. SOE has worked hard to make it a great experience and constantly upgrade and update the game so that it is never stagnant. All levels of play are considered, from solo to raiding. And the world is huge! It is less buggy and better designed in almost every aspect than any game out there, and is much more challenging than games like WoW, especially the raid content.The SF expansion makes major changes to the game, so expect a learnign curve if you are a returning player. New players should find things less confusing than before as SOE continues to iron things out, bringing new levels of consistency and better customization of characters.It isn't perfect, but it sure is the best available. The Best MMO Game on the Internet
EQ2 ia a very addictive game but one that gives tremendous pleasure and relaxation. I am an older senior and my daughter and son-in-law are the ones who got me "hooked" on the game. I have been playing it for over 7 years and have every expansion they have come out with and am looking forward to another one coming out I believe in November of this year. When they named it "Everquest" they could not have selected a more appropriate title. There is ALWAYS something to do. I have noticed that I am able to remember things a little better (because you really do work your mind) and the hand to eye coordination is fantastic. You play with others all over the world and I have made some wonderful, and lasting, friendships in this game. I even know of several couples who met on EQ and are, or have, getting married. lol You just never know what will happen in this game and trust me, you will not get bored with it. Great game, wonderful world, excellent character development great combat, traditional style of graphics, not preteen colors and characters. Traditional AD&D flavor. Get a group/guild, multibox on more than one account. Tough to catch up to the uberest. Must invest large quantities of your life to advance to uberdom. Depending on your PoV on life, you couldn't waste your time playing this game. It is a lush and vibrant world ripe with quests, creatures and adventure. Immerse yourself, but bring some food and drink, could be a while before reality creeps in.

EQ2 is solid and fun with a mature community
EQ2 is a solid and fun game with the most mature (adult) community of any of the top fantasy MMOGs I've played (WoW, LoTRO, etc).Granted the client engine needs some work and some of the older zones are a strange mix of high-res texture and low poly edges, once you really get into the game, you enjoy it.EQ2 doesn't suffer from the "PvP or Raid" end game solution WoW does - with the AA structure you can do a lot with your character and there's no "best build" of a class - so people won't reject your character based on the way you've built it out.EQ2 isn't perfect, and it's "different" from WoW and LoTRO (which are also excellent games) - it seems to cater to the more hardcore gamer than the casual gamer.One completely unique aspect of EQ2 that WoW and LoTRO simply does not have (although LoTRO tried) is the housing system. Another year, another expansion
This game takes you to Odus, the land of the Erudites and the ugly amphibious mounts from Everquest.The new content isn't as streamlined as it was in TSO and RoK, but it doesn't waste any of your time (for the most part). You wont be playing for 12 hours a day and over the first two weeks of the expansion getting to level 90, but you will spend some extra time getting to the max AA level.AAs: Are now handled in a similar way to how they are in Everquest. However, you still gain achievement experience from quests, named kills, etc. But you can choose to allocate a portion or all of your primary experience to your AAs (similar to disabling combat in the previous versions).Quests: Make sure you check your mail!!! that is all I have to say about that.Encounters: The expansion encounters (overland zones) are easier than they were in EoF, RoK, and TSO. They can still throw down the fisticuffs, but it takes some really horrible planning...

Great Game
After many years playing WoW - my and my friends decided to try out EQ2. So far it has been a great game, and we have been impressed. The character development / advancement is much, much more in depth. The game being, overall, much more of a hard-core role playing game then the more action oriented WoW. The overall package is not as "smooth" as WoW, but still impressive.The level of choices (24 classes, 18 races, class customization) make is so you really feel like you have an individual character - this was missing from WoW. End-game characters all looked and played relatively the same.Anyway, if you want a good, hard-core MMORPG with a satisfyingly high learning curve this is a great choice.
