GP100 HiViz Front Sight
I've been firing the Ruger GP100 with the factory provided front sights for over 15 years. As both a gunsmith and firearms instructor I must admit that the HiViz front sight insert makes a world of difference. The fiber optic lights up like search beacon and your eyes are automatically drawn exactly where they should be; to the front sight! You pick up the sights quicker, you pick up the target quicker, and consequently your rounds are down range faster and more accurately, as long as you do your part behind the gun. Al the light bars work well, but I chose the red fiber optic on mine. Installation was under 10 seconds and unless you use your gun as substitute for a hammer they should last various lifetimes. They work, they're easy to install, and they are inexpensive; What's not to like?

A big improvement.
My GP100 came with a plain black serrated ramp front sight. I had trouble ascertaining my front sight quickly. I shopped for night sights, but no-one makes affordable ones for this model. I settled on this fiber optic.Installation was a piece of cake. It was as close to drop-in as I could want.It's worth noting that you actually only get three colors of tubes: OPAQUE white (why?), red, and green. You get a couple spares of the reds and greens.I can now locate my front sight very quickly in all but the darkest lighting conditions. This is an excellent alternative to some of the overpriced tritium units.

bright sight, poor instructions
I love my Ruger GP100 revolver, but the stock front sight is terrible. It is a uniform dark color that is hard to see except in bright light. I purchased the Hi Viz fiber optic front sight to replace it.Instructions for installing the sight are printed on the cardboard back of the package it comes in. Installation is very easy: use a punch to press in on the recessed button just above the muzzle of your Ruger revolver (obviously, for safety reasons, make sure your gun is completely empty of bullets first). While pressing in the button you simply lift the stock sight up and out from the back forward. The Hi Viz sight installs the same way in reverse. Press the button on your gun in and while doing so place the Hi Viz site on the gun by putting the back end in first and then lowering the front into place. Then release the front button on your gun to lock it in place.In bright light the Hi Viz sight seems to light up like a beacon. It's very easy to see...

Durable, Effective, Quick
With HKS speed loaders, one drops the bases of however many cartridges into the holes, then turns the knob a click so that metal pins roll into place, holding the rims in place. Then all one must do is align the cartridges with a cylinder, turn the knob in reverse, and let the rounds drop into the cylinder. It's quick and easy, and the loaders are high quality while still being much cheaper than just about any auto-loader magazine.As a tip: adding glow-in-the-dark or high-visibility paint to the end of the knob can make finding a speed-loader in darkness or low-light conditions easier.If there's one bad thing about speed-loaders, it's that they must be as large as a corresponding cylinder. So for anyone using one as a reload to a concealed-carry revolver, you're basically having to hide the width of two guns when you carry a speed loader. Dandy little speed loader for Ruger GP100 or similar six-shooter revolver
This little speed loader is a very nice accessory for most standard six-shooter .38/.357 Magnum revolvers such as the Ruger GP100 and comparable pieces. A speedloader functions something like a magazine for a pistol--carry several of them and you can re-load in a hurry. No doubt this is very important to a law enforcement officer or security person who carries a revolver. For us ordinary civilians, a speed loader is great for going to the range and expediting reloading, thereby maximizing shooting time over reloading time. Just swing out the cylinder of the revolver, tilt the barrel down, align the tips of the bullets to the inside of the cylinder, and then twist the knob on the speedloader. The rounds will drop into the cylinder. Close the cylinder and you are ready to go. I bought a couple of these speed loaders to use with my Ruger GP100. The gun has the older stock grip with the wood inserts and these loaders work great with this setup. The loaders are of sound construction and are easy to use.

Best holster for the GP100
This has been my favorite holster. It can be a bit tight at first but then it works great. Also you can not push the gun in all the way and it's just a quick pull to get it out. Because the GP100 is a heavier gun it needs more support on the belt. This holster is wide enough so that it doesn't pull down one area of your belt. I can barely tell that I have a gun when I'm wearing it.

My product arrived promptly and as advertised. The hard plastic does wear on the stainless steel slightly, but it is nothing severe. Nice paddle holster. I have no complaints.

Safariland Comp II vs. HKS Speedloaders
I have two of these and two from HKS. I probably don't use mine as much as most guys, but I was impressed with these. The Safariland speedloaders just gets pressed into the cylinder and your ready to shoot, the chances of getting a solid reload increases because there's nothing to twist afterwards. The HKS has to be pushed in and then turn the lever clockwise. Both are nice, but the Safariland is quicker when actually reloading because they are light weight, sturdy, and work like a charm. These speedloaders can be dropped, kicked on the floor several times and not blow apart...that is DURABLE! HKS speedloaders would never handle this kind of abuse.With a little practice you can be amazingly fast and never have to look at the weapon while reloading, you can maintain target acquisition/situational awareness. If you drop the Safariland Comp-II Speedloader with the rounds still in it, the rounds won't come out. I highly recommend these Speedloaders!

For competition or combat!
Having used both Safariland and SKS speed loaders, I prefer the Safariland over the SKS. If you use speedloader pouches, Safariland is the way to go. However, if you use a speedload carrier where the speedloader straddles the belt, SKS is the choice, as the downward pressure of the loader against the belt will dump your rounds with the Safariland. Not good in competition. Especially not good in combat.The Safariland technique of loading the speedloader can be perplexing at first but is easily learned. The loading of the SKS is easier. Most serious competitors favor the Safariland over the SKS - I know that I did.

everything i wanted in a holster
I have had Bianchi holsters in the past, always top notch quality, usually at a pretty hefty price though, my last one was for a 6" 357 magnum and the holster was stolen out of my pickup. This one looks just as advertised, fits my Taurus 627 tracker 4" 357 magnum, 7 shot revolver perfectly. I was skeptical about ordering it through optics-planet because they were over twenty dollars cheaper than anyone else, but they came through in record time from the day i ordered it to the day i got it. excellent service, shipping was free, handling was a buck forty, no big deal there for sure. You don't need to treat this leather with anything, it has been tanned and treated with their own process that will ensure it to last a long time without mildew or mold. Some treatments like animal fat based oils will eventually allow for mold to grow, and will degrade the seams, so don't treat the outside with anything, they can also soften the leather and you really don't want that in a holster like this...

Perfect for Ruger GP-100 4"
Bianchi makes the best leather holsters. Positive button snap works perfectly with thumb break. Every stitch is done perfectly and leather is finished exactly at the correct suppleness. Keep your gun in this holster for a couple weeks to break it in and you are ready to go.

Great grip not all that difficult to install.
I was intimidated by the instructions I saw posted in other reviews. I think there is probably some variability in how difficult it is to install on certain GP-100s. However, I found an excellent YouTube video on exactly what was involved, so I decided to try it. It turned out to be far easier, on my particular gun, than I had feared. I needed no special tools and I did not have to soak my tine in anything--the part simply "dropped out." I like the new grip much better than the factory grip. In fact, Ruger must have liked them better too, because Ruger now ships the GP-100 from the factory with this aftermarket grip installed! Highly recommended!

Hogue grips
These grips replaced the original Ruger grips on a 454 Casull. The origianl grips ripped my skin and I would have to wait for it to heal. Hogue grips allowed me to shoot for a longer period of time before calling it good for the day. Huge difference they also fit perfectly on the gun and in the hand.
