Great machine!
I have used several machines recently trying to find one to fit my needs. I'm not an experienced seamstress, but I've been plagued by less than adequate machines. Problems with tension, feed systems, bobbin threading, enough to make your sewing project frustrating. From the box, this is an easy set up. Learning to thread the needle and wind the bobbin took less than 10 min. The Manual is very detailed and easy to follow. Take the extra time to read through the manual especially if you are new to sewing, it tells you which pressure foot to use with what fabric, it tells you about the stitches and which fabrics they are best for. This is easy enough to understand for a beginner. First go at a straight stitch I had a perfectly straight line without touching the fabric. The decorative stitches are beautiful and with the lock stitch function easy to give a professional finish to. I highly recommend this machine!

Janome DC2011
After a lot of research I recently decided to purchase the Janome DC2011. The first project I made with it was a purse. The Janome sewed through several layers of fabric and batting without missing a stitch, or without any tension adjustments. The ability to set the machine to stitch at a slow rate, plus the needle up/down feature was invaluable to me as I stiched around the many tight curves of the purse. I also like the low angle foot control. I am thoroughly impressed with the ease of sewing on this machine. As this is a recent purchase, if anything changes, I will provide an update.

The Janome DC2011
I bought mine from a local dealer on sale. I couldn't be happier with my new machine. Being skeptical about the computerized components I was hesitant, but now I wonder why I waited so long. It is quiet, smooth, user friendly, and I enjoy sewing on it. I have made many bags and other items that would have been a problem for my 1957 Singer slant. Nice, tight stitches in those thick seams! No more changing cams; just the touch of a button and I have the selected stitch. I am finding a lot more excuses/reasons for using it! :) The feet that are included make the purchase of this machine cost effective considering the separate cost of accessories. If you do need feet that aren't included, as I did, the Distinctive brand (sold on this site) work well and are less expensive than the Janome brand. Further, I have found that the SA156 bobbins (made for Brother) work well but the Singer 15's have jammed this particular model. I have owned this machine for 2 months without complaint one...

Perfect for an adult beginner
Janome 2212 has all the basic stitches a serious beginner needs when learning to sew curtains and clothes. It threads easily and has an easy to follow guide book. It comes with a plastic cover which is rugged enough for home storage. It feels steady even when you get up to a faster speed. I bought the same machine in the UK for my daughter, and it has been without problems for 2 years. This one I bought for my daughter in law in the US. Practise on spare material forward and reverse to get rid of may surplus oil it has around the bobbin area, before starting a project!

WOW what a great machine! Can't go wrong with Janome!
Got this for a 10-year-old niece to start her sewing lessons on. I have two full size Janomes and am VERY IMPRESSED with this little machine! I know from experience Janomes are very dependable, sturdy workhorses that keep going for years, and mine have never needed maintenance besides cleaning dust out of the bobbin case. It stitches out and sounds exactly like my big machines - very smooth and precise and all the stitches are perfect. There's definitely no reduction in quality with the reduction in size/weight. Weighs a little less than 13#, so it would be a perfect weight to carry to classes vs 20#. But it's almost the same measurements as the full size so you have almost the full size workspace - both are 15" long, the 2212 is 1" shorter overall at 11" tall vs 12", and 6" deep front to back vs 7" . The harp or throat area (opening) is the same 6.5" from the needle to the motor casing, and only 1/2" shorter at 4.5" vs 5" high. So if you are able to quilt on a standard...

does what it's designed to do
This is a great machine that's done everything I need, and does it well. I've owned it for a while now, I sew on it several hours a week, usually in one big sewing block. It quilts just fine, hems jeans (with the help of a jean-a-ma-jig) there are many feet available for it very inexpensively, both Janome and generic feet. If you're new to sewing and want a simple, reliable machine that won't give you a headache, I definitely recommend this machine. It is a vertical bobbin, and while the trend right now is horizontal bobbins, there are some advantages to the vertical bobbin. For instance, it's really easy to clear thread jams, and you can clear them without removing your project from the machine, you can change bobbins without moving your project, and many people prefer vertical bobbin when doing free motion quilting. Another great thing about this machine, if you take up sewing and decide you can't continue, you won't feel bad about giving this machine to someone else because...

Sturdy, easy to use
I am a first time sewer and I wanted a solid machine below $400. I wanted something I could grow into, but something that wouldn't overwhelm me. I had gone online to research machines. I was actually considering the Brother CS6000I before I had even heard of the Janome 7330. At the time there were 97 reviews on Amazon for the Brother CS6000I and I read every one. I was concerned b/c the low rated Brother reviews and even many of the 4 and 5 star reviews complained about the machine's tension and a finicky bobbin. The last thing I wanted to deal with was a touchy machine. If you read the reviews, without looking at the stars, most of them talk about the machine's quirks. I started to wonder if the Brother was trying to be too far reaching for it's price point. I was also wondering why so many were willing to overlook this touchiness that they all mentioned. I went to SewVacDirect.com and did an online "ask a consultant" thing. I asked the person about the...

Sturdy basic sewing machine, great for free quilting and mending
The Janome Magnolia 7330 is a "beginner's" sewing machine, according to some sewing forums, but my feeling is that it really is a workhorse that does most things an average sewist or quilter wants to do, and while it doesn't have all the features of a very expensive model, it delivers sturdy performance and enough bells and whistles to make it my new favorite "go-to" machine. What it looks like: The Magnolia line is an affordable line of machines including sergers. The 7330 is the top of this line and competes with the Decor models (such as the 2010) and the Threadbanger TB30. It is larger than the Gems (used for schools and portability) and smaller and less feature-rich than the Memory Craft and higher Decor models. What this all means is that if you are looking for a basic machine that does everyday tasks and quilting, this is a good machine at the right price point. What you will need to decide is how many extras you need based on your sewing tasks...

Hassle free home workhorse
I waited until I'd test driven this machine a bit before reviewing. The consensus: This is a wonderful home workhorse. The Magnolia 7330 is the first sewing machine I've ever bought, but I've used the Whites, Singers, Janomes and Berninas of my mom and friends before. When I went looking for a machine of my own I wanted something simple, powerful, non-finicky (nothing seems to elevates blood pressure like weird thread tension), and good enough to get me through most craft or clothing projects. Well, and not crazy expensive. This machine really lives up to my expectations and hopes. It punched through 6+ layers of denim easily, the feed dog system is wonderfully smooth, and it goes from sewing light muslin to heavy twill without any problem or fiddling at all. You can see how much thread is in the bobbin in between stitching, so I don't expect to lift off the fabric and find I've run out of thread any time soon, like has happened to me a couple of...

Awesome Sewing Machine for the Money!
I purchased this sewing machine as a gift for my grand-children. When it arrived, I checked it out to make sure it worked well and was a good machine for them. I read the manual to learn about its' features and made all the stitches on a scrap of material. The machine is quiet, runs smoothly and makes beautiful stitches, plus it is lightweight and easy to transport. I was so thrilled that I kept raving, to my husband, about what a great little machine it is. In fact, I liked it so much, I decided to keep it for myself and I had to order another one for my grandchildren. This machine is way better than many machines that cost much more. I already have a Bernina (expensive) and a Singer Featherweight but I fell in love with this sewing machine. I would recommend it to anyone and, in fact, I did. I told two my friends about it and they each bought one.

Best machine I have owned!!!!
I learnt to sew at the age of 5 and sewed in the Apparel sewing business for over 25 years. I sewed on every machine out there. Ten years ago I started my own small dog clothes business. Three years ago I decided to invest in a new machine, after reviewing Berninas and how they were Swiss made, decided to invest over a thousand dollars into one! Much to my disappointment the machine did not live up to the reviews I read! Yes the Bernina can sew most everything, but what they fail to tell you, you must buy a presser foot for all different fabrics and the feet are NOT cheap. Later found out my machine was NOT Swiss made but made in China, which Bernina fails to tell you! After years of cursing with the Bernina, I decided to try this machine! From the time I turned it on was so impressed!! The ease of threading (both bobbin and needle) The feeding of the fabric is just amazing! I sewed through cotton, satin stretch knit and Leather with no adjustment of anything! Goes from thin fabric to...

Buy a Janome
I have had Wards, Sears, Bernina, and Janome sewing machines. My Janomes have been my favorites. They make a wonderful tight stitch. They are easy to use, quite and smooth. This one is very nice. I purchased it through Amazon as a reconditioned machine. It is new. Everything is flawless. I use it to take to quilt guild for piecing. My 8 year old granddaughter has been learning to sew on it. She loves the decorative stitches. It is simple to operate and any level sewer can use well. I would buy it again.

Couldn't be happier...
Well, the third time truly is the charm! This is the third sewing machine I've purchased since my Singer purchased back in the early seventies died on me in about the same number of years (three). The first replacement was another Singer and the second was a Brother, both proving to be huge disappointments with limited capabilities (even with all the fancy embroidery stitches), particularly when sewing thick or heavy duty fabrics, such as upholstery fabrics, but not so with my new Janome Threadbanger. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive utility machine, i.e. ordinary, everyday seam repairs, hemming of jeans with the bulky welt seams or something that will handle heavy upholstery fabrics, this one should suffice very well. And, as usual, Amazon filled the order expeditiously and I had my new machine in three days, all the way up in Alaska. Thanks Amazon!

Great machine for the money
This machine is a real workhorse. I worked in a tailor shop for years on a Bernina and fell in love with their machines, but could never afford one. This machine is as easy to use and works as well as a Bernina and I have since found out that Janome makes some of Bernina's machines for them, specifically the Bernette. I just got this machine this week, but I absolutely LOVE it. I have gone through multiple layers of fleece without so much as a hiccup and have also done some finer work on thin cotton material, also without a hiccup. It is a metal arm & base with some plastic parts. Has a storage box right on the front which is handy, and is very easy to change stitches, etc. Definitely worth the money. You won't regret purchasing this machine.

Perfect but pricey?
I am a novice sewer and just bought a new Janome Magnolia sewing machine from amazon.com. A couple of weeks into my sewing projects, I realized that the four bobbins that came with the machine just weren't going to cut it. I couldn't find Janome bobbins on any of the typical sewing websites so I bit the bullet and bought a couple of sets of these knowing that I probably could have found them cheaper at a bricks 'n mortar store if I had spent time trying to find them. But now I have 20 bobbins that fit my machine and I can work on lots of new projects without having to worry that I will run out!

BUY Janome Sewing Embroidery Machine Bobbins 10ct Pack New

Buy Janome

Another machine that Walmart had was the Singer Simple but my friend said to stay away from it. She felt that the more things a machine offered, then that was more that could go wrong with it. I really thought about it at first, but I've had... Also, I was shocked that even though the Singer machine claimed to be great for beginners, it had the kind of bobbin that I can't stand on a machine. The Janome 4618LE was the first sewing machine I ever saved up for and bought. I was so set on saving up for another Janome, but all I wanted was a machine to take out once in awhile and sew some small craft items with. When I saw that the Brother machine had a drop in top bobbin,  just like my Janome 4618LE, I was hooked. I made all kinds of things with it. I sewed all my own dresses, jumpers, skirts and sewed Nick shirts with it. I made curtains, window quilts, pot holders. ) I decided to just buy a Brother machine. So far, I've just sewed some small things with it but I don't doubt that it could handle me sewing a jumper or two. I talked with a friend of mine that has a Janome and she doesn't like hers. If they still made them, and I had the money to spend, I'd buy another.

Janome would generally advise that you buy your new sewing machine through the regional Janome store and supply a full list of these on their site -. Janome British was set up in 1969 as New House New Sewing Machine Denver Ltd and changed its identity to Janome inside the core 1990′s. Formally often known as ‘New Home’, Janome Stitching Equipment of Okazaki, japan are classified as the new brand name to get. Janome exports to more than 100 nations around the world throughout the world and are generally the no. 1 itunes new sewing machine vendor in the world. Janome deliver units in the administration area own production facilities located in Okazaki, japan, Taiwan and Thailand, where some suppliers farmville farm to other individuals to supply units.

From what I've read about the superior feed system is that all Janome machines have a sturdy feed feature even without the SFS. The DC 2010 has the superior feed system (SFS) but the DC 1050 had the decorative stitches I wanted. The standard accessories kit includes bobbins, a needle set, zipper foot, satin stitch foot, and buttonhole foot, and more. I narrowed it down to the DC 1050 and the DC 2010 (both were in the price range I wanted). It is worth it to spend a little extra for a machine you know will last you a life time versus buying something cheap at Walmart that will probably break on you in 6 months. I knew I wanted a Janome when I started looking.
