Great framing screws
These are great screws for framing. Far superior to deck screws from the hardware store and comparably priced here on Amazon. The self tapping threads are excellent, easily screwing into wood that would otherwise require a pilot hole.

Saves time, muscles, and frustration. Excellent for framing.
Being little, old, and a lady, renovating a 100+ year old house has been a chore. Framing a wide doorway for two pocket doors required a 12' long 2x10 triple header. I'd already struggled using deck screws to fasten 10' 2x6s in this wall (it's a house with big proportions) and then I found these screws (actually, the 3 1/2" ones). Using them is like cutting into soft butter with a knife! That is not an exaggeration. They also - very important - pulled those three 2x10s TOGETHER TIGHT, instead of tending to push them apart as the deck screws had. They also help tremendously with pulling into square the new lumber that is warped, curved, twisted and otherwise showing how awful new growth lumber is compared with the straight, strong, 100 year old stuff. Buy these screws. They will save you a ton of aggravation and energy.

Excellent alternative to heavy air framing nailers
Started using these after our contractor recommended them. The only disadvantage to these is that my big, awkward Stanley-Bostitch framing nailer is now going unused, replaced with these screws and a small Bosch 12v driver. Sometimes I need to tap the end of the screw to get the point to bite in before driving it, but if you use a drill or faster driver, very likely will not be a problem. The Torx drive is brilliant, by far the best choice, allowing driving at uncomfortable angles without any difficulty, camming out, or rounding out the screw.Unlike a framing nailer, it's easy to remove these screws in case you should happen to screw up. That came in handy during our recent project!Highly recommend these screws.
