Awesome and Easy!
I purchased this after much debate about whether or not I needed a two quart ice cream maker or just go with the original Cuisinart $49.95 one. I am so glad i bought this one. It is so great. Easy to use, makes alot of ice cream,so sleek looking.I have a tiny kicthen and everytime I turn around I am buying something that will clutter my counterspace, but I have to say this I don't mind. It is square, not to bulky and the cord fits nicely up inside the machine. It doesn't dangle or anything. It's right next to my KitchenAid.I have made two recipes out of the manual that comes with the machine. I usually don't like "manual recipes" however, these are fantastic. The Mango Gelato was a huge hit with family and friends. One girl who doesn't like ice cream, liked it. The simple ice creams that dont require making a custard, you just mix all the ingredients together and freeze, I was thinking it would be terrible. It wasn't, so you can make ice cream in 30minutes...

The Cuisinart ICE-30BC works wonderfully. It is easy to use -- just one switch which says "on" and "off". In addition, it has a handsome design and is easy to store.If you like to experiment with foods, this is a great purchase.I had not previously owned an ice cream maker -- if you're in the same position, here's some things to expect:* Don't buy one if you're simply trying to save money on ice cream for the family. The maker is costly, as are good ingredients.* Good, rich ice cream requires cooking a custard-like mixture. Meaning double boiler on the stove, then a lengthy cooling process. Although you could avoid cooking and make a simple ice cream with the ice cream maker alone -- the results are not the same.* The canister part of the 2 quart Cuisinart maker must be placed in the freezer for about 24 hours before each use. Keep this in mind if you have a packed freezer and/or tend to like instead...

Nice collection. Good explanations.
I was glad to find this book. It has a few pages explaining the how and why of making frozen yogurt and a lot of good tips. Also, I like that they have several kinds of vanilla, so I can try different types of recipes and understand what kind of ingredients lead to the consistency that I like best. Great Book
This is a really fun book filled with a great recipes ideas. They have everything from pb&j, chocolate, praline and many more. Everyone loves the few that I have made so far. It is different and who doesen't like a cold treat, besides ice cream, in the winter. The recipes use low fat milk and yogurt but you can substitute the real thing. Anyhow, enjoy!

Simply Great Ice Cream
As this product had not been reviewed yet, I read several reviews for the Cuisinart ICE-20 Ice Cream Maker before making my decision to purchase this product. Many comments about the ICE-20 mentioned that the ice cream is the consistency of soft serve; some reviewers said it was too soft. I did not find that issue with the ice cream I made with this ice cream maker. I turned my freezer to the coldest setting and froze the bowl for 7 hours. I could not hear any liquid moving in the bowl at that point, so I assumed it was solidly frozen. I made the Simple Vanilla Ice Cream recipe from the booklet that came with the machine. After about 20 minutes, the ice cream was nicely textured and creamy. It wasn't as hard as the packed ice cream you purchase at the store, so I guess you might say the consistency was somewhere between soft serve and store-bought: firmer than soft serve, but not as firm as hard pack. Much improved from the ICE-20
I bought the new ICE-21 ice cream maker from Cuisinart and just made my first batch of strawberry ice cream. I was a little worried that it would not freeze well based on the reviews of the ICE-20, also sold on amazon, but in literally 10 minutes after pouring the chilled ingredients in, I had perfectly textured ice cream. The unit is very easy to clean, not terribly loud, and as long as if doesn't break on me after a few months (and I will update this if it does), I will say this is a great purchase. Now I can make whatever flavor ice cream I desire! Mwhahaha!

Great ice cream maker indeed!
I have relied on my Rival ice cream maker for many years, churning out many, many batches of good ice cream...but after so many years, i got tired of the rock salt and ice ordeal so i went for this model. GLAD I DID! I've made half a dozen batches so far and i'm pleased to say this works better than the salt/ice machine. A few comments:First, it's easier to do, and doesnt take any guessing on how much ice to salt than the traditional ice/salt machine. THer'es no messy clean up of salt and/or ice off the counter/floor, either.Second, it's quicker than advertised. While eveything says 20-25 minutes, i have yet to have a batch take longer than 15 minutes.Third, I did not have to turn my freezer down to the lowest setting either (i was concerned about wasting energy just for this!). Clever, fun and engaging
As a high school physics teacher, I purchased Schrodinger's Frozen Yogurt as part of a "Fourth Grade Physics Day" STEM program my AP students developed and presented in May. One of the stations was a "Quantum Cafe" set up with round tables where the fourth graders could read about the history of quantum physics, play games of chance and also read Schrodinger's Frozen Yougurt on a Kindle and as well as the paperback copy. We talked about the implications of Quantum Physics and gave the fourth graders their first taste of modern physics!The book was the highlight of the station, and the High School students loved reading and re-reading it to find the connections to what they had learned as well!

Heavenly Raw Ice Cream
This machine makes wonderful banana based 'ice cream' effortlessly. The frozen ice cream dispenses directly into your serving bowl. You do not need to stop and clean out any containers. So when the line of little children forms up behind you, you can just keep going. Clean up is a breeze. Break down the processing parts and rinse in less than 2 minutes. No scrubbing. This machine is not as loud as the Vitamix which also makes wonderful things.The 'ice cream' is soft formed and very creamy.You start with one frozen banana. Add other frozen fruit such as berries, pineapple, oranges, in between each banana. Non frozen bananas do not work as my daughter found out.I don't think this machine will ever be placed under the counter. My biggest challenge to my raw lifestyle has been my love affair with ice cream. That ended last night.

Really like this
Make sure you are freezing the fruit really good - very important. And ripe, not green. My first try I did with bananas only. The texture was creamy and smooth and fantastic. The second try I added blueberries. Yum. The berries were not quite as smooth as the bananas but was still very good. Have not tried anything with a lot of seeds, like strawberries, but icecream with real strawberries has that seedy texture, so I expect this would as well.If you are expecting not to be able to taste the bananas and have it taste like vanilla iceacream, you might be disappointed. But you can add things to it to minimize the banana flavor.I have really liked my experience with this item so far.It is made of sturdy plastic, has metal blades, and extremely easy to disassemble and clean with a quick rinse under the faucet.EDIT 12/24/2011: Ok, I see it is made of ABS plastic. Yonans Maker
While in Hawaii we stopped at an "ice cream" store to have a frozen fruit cup. It was so delicious and good for us we knew we had to find a way to make this at home. Visiting my niece's home this summer she offered us a similar treat made with the Yonanas Maker. Doing some research on line I noticed that Amazon.com had them in stock. I bought two; one for my son's family and one for me. Yonanas is truly a wonderful way to get our suggested amount of daily servings of fruits. Kids love it, us ice cream lovers love it....only negative thing about it is; one must freeze the bananas and fruit in advance and it is very difficult to have enough ready when it is time for Yonanas!
