An educational, fun toy that grows with the child!
We first bought this toy as a birthday gift, because our 4 year old was so fascinated with pushing the buttons to open the cash drawer. He liked the play coins that came with it, too.Over the last 5 years, it has suited his needs as he's grown. First it was a play-alone toy, fun for long stretches of time. Later, it evolved into part of a grocery store game played with friends. Over the last two years, it has been an educational tool for us to use, as he learns to add and subtract and make change, something he is also doing at school. It comes with a credit card - we haven't had to use it yet (not as much educational value for a credit card in this set up, since you can't really explain the perils of interest rates)!When friends come over, it is still a popular toy to pull out and play with. You can replace the coins (which seem to disappear) with less realistic, but inexpensive, coins you can find at any dollar store - or use real money!An excellent toy that will...

The excellent reviews I read before buying this cash register did not mention that it is solar powered, and I believe this fact is worth adding for those frugally and/or environmentally-minded potential buyers. It worked right out of the box -- no time delay for charging.

Super buy on an educational and entertaining product
This item was used in my Sunday School classroom ages (4-7) earlier this year. Okay, so you are probably wondering in what application did I use this for in a Sunday School room? A: Matthew and Zacchaeus, the tax collectors.Due to its popularity, I decided it was in my best interest to purchase a duplicate so that ten children would not be crowding around one register. The register was never not in use during the entire class time (1 hour and 15 minutes) except when I pulled them away for story time. Suffice it to say that it was a major hit.It has been my experience that the special traits that make it a favorite with the children are: 1. Calculator features (the children who are familiar with numbers were thrilled that they could use it for real life addition and subtraction transactions). 2. Awesome
This play set is wonderful! It is easy to use and entertaining for preschool to early school age children. While kids are having fun playing, they are improving their fine motor skills and patterning. They can be creative with their own designs or learn to follow one of the included pattern cards. The set includes 3 bits for use with the drill or screwdriver handle and 5 different colored large screws. The drill has forward, off, and reverse settings and makes drill sounds at a reasonable volume. Overall a great buy.

Mom of 3
Love this toy, probably the best of the year. It is well made and sturdy. The drill fascinates my 4 year old, and even the 8 yr old and 11 yr old enjoy matching the pattern cards (and they are all girls...). A toy my children will play with for at least 30 mins straight(quite a feat in the video age!!!) If you are considering it, try it...I would bet that you will be impressed.

My boys love it!
My two and five-year-old boys love to play with this. My youngest just loves drilling in and out, but by oldest uses the pictures and makes designs. This toy is also very durable. This is a great toy for boys!

Human Resource Function
The first couple of chapters have a lot of information which leaves the reader overwhelmed and not quite grasping the point of the book: (chapter 1) The Human Resource Function in Perspecitve and (chapter 2) Strategic Planning and the Human Resource Function. At times the authors do not completely explain what they are talking about or mention something and never explain it. However, the remainder of the chapters are broken down into components of what the functions of human resource encompass. The chapters don't completely match the authors' list on page 4, but most of them are covered: information technology; recruitment and selection; induction; development; performance appraisal; compensation; employment continuity; and unionism. I was very confused after reading the first couple of chapters, but as I finished the book, I was able to go back and reread the first two chapters which then made more sense.

Zoomy is an excellent kid's microscope
The Zoomy microscope is easy to load software for and starts up with no problem. My ten-year-old uses it as part of home school, to look at, identify & record all sorts of cool bugs. I think it well worth the $50 we spent. The USB connection is convenient and the pictures can be saved in .jpg format, the same as photos.

Works for PC but not for Mac
If you own a Mac you have experienced compatibly issues. I have spent time trying to get accessories to talk to a Mac and given up frustrated. That is why I always check the reviews before buying an accessory for my Mac. This is the review warning you that the Zoomy may not work with your Mac and definitely does not work with Mac Mini running OS 10.6The Zoomy does work well with my PC but the software and the person who wrote the software both suck.

Inflatable Globe
This is a well made product. It reminds you of a beach ball but when it arrives you find it is much thicker and more durable than most beach balls. Also, if you are the least bit worried about the print being unclear and hard to read because it's stamped on an inflatable globe, don't be. It's clear as a bell and a wonderful learning tool for little ones. My 4 year old was asking me questions that would be SO much easier to answer if I had a globe yet, I didn't want to sink a ton of money into a fancy globe. Also, he's not old enough to have interest in it EVERY day so this was the PERFECT solution.

traveling globe!
This globe is a "blow up" globe that can be reused again and again. It easily folds up and can be carried in a pocket. It is made of tough beach ball material.I bought it to take to a farming village in the jungle in northeast Luzon in the Philippines, and there was no way I had room for a regular globe in my luggage. This blow up globe was perfect for the long, rough trip. I used it to show the people I was visiting where I live, and where their village is, because they had never seen a map before. The globe was useful for showing where the typhoons that hit their village come from, how close the Philippines is to other countries, and whatnot.I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the individual US states are not shown on the map of the US, so I had to draw in California with a ball point pen. Otherwise, this globe is a real handy, portable teaching tool. It also comes with a repare kit in case you pop it.

Geographically Incorrect
We bought this blow up globe for our infant son, so we aren't too tremendously concerned about the fact that the names of countries are inaccurately printed on this globe!!! All the country names are printed approximately 1/2" above the territory. If you plan on using this globe as anything other than a earth-decorated beach ball (such as in a classroom setting or to teach your kids geography?!) this is not the globe for you. By the time our infant understands how to use a globe, we will have moved onto a bigger, better globe.

When a product is created by people who actually have a background in the product they created, are experts in the field, and have years of proven products that work and do what they promise, I am more likely to go with paid instead of free (or...
