Not the pinnacle of new technology, but Android perfection (for now...)
There are phones with bigger screens (), faster CPUs and GPUs (), thinner profiles (), more memory and longer battery life, but the Galaxy Nexus (Verizon's LTE version) puts a respectable amount of everything together into one package, and leaves me practically nothing to complain about.IN SUMMARY: This may turn into one of my longer reviews, so in a nutshell: BIG, but comfortable to hold, though begs to be used with two hands. Screen is awesome (bright and crisp) & keyboard is accurate. No problems with signal...

Best Verizon Phone Ever
Hardware & Form Factor:A lot of the reviews of the GSM version claimed that the phone felt big in people's hand and that some people had trouble with one-hand operations, however I don't see this to be the case. I have had no trouble using this phone in one hand. It fits comfortably in my hand, and the phone is incredibly light. While the RAZR might also be light, because it is slightly wider, it did not feel as comfortable in my hand. While this phone may not have the same high-end processor that is found in the HTC Rezound, the 1.2 GHz dual-core processor combined with Android 4.0 makes this thing lightning fast. (Update 1/17/12: My research has informed me that the processor in the device can actually clock up to 1.5GHz. You can get speeds higher than 1.2 GHz, but you must unlock your bootloader and flash a custom kernel. There are a few that overclock to 1.35 GHz since that is what has been found to be the highest speed that remains stable. Do this at your...

And the Galaxy Nexus is outfitted with ultra-fast Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking as well as next-generation Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.

Android immediately stitches together an expansive panorama photo, ready to share.

A full-featured photo editor lets you add filters and effects, adjust color, straighten, reduce red eye, crop, rotate, flip, and even doodle on your favorite photos--right after you take them. Your edits are saved as a copy, so you can always get to the original.

Your photos can upload themselves with Instant Upload, which makes it much easier to share them with family and friends. If you've signed up for Google+, you can enable Instant Upload and share photos with anyone you choose.

When your footage is ready, create your own movie with Movie Studio and upload it to YouTube. When you shoot videos, you can choose from a number of silly faces and other fun effects. Galaxy Nexus is smart enough to recognize individual facial features--give your friends big eyes, squeeze heads, make noses bigger. Or change the scenery with background replacement.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System

The Galaxy Nexus runs the Android 4.0 operating system (dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich), which adds powerful new ways of communicating and sharing while improving on the best Android features: easy multitasking, rich notifications, customizable home screens, resizable widgets, and more.

The new Ice Cream Sandwich interface features an onscreen navigation bar that replaces the hardware buttons for Back, Home, and Menu found with older Android-powered phones. And with Google+ integration, you can video chat with groups of up to 9 friends as well as easily upload and share photos and videos. Other features include:

Android IceCreamSanwich
Face Unlock

You can now unlock your phone with just your face using the Face Unlock option. It takes advantage of the front-facing camera and state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to register a face during setup and then to recognize it again when unlocking the device. Just hold your phone in front of your face to unlock (or use a backup PIN).

And the lock screen now lets you do more without unlocking. From the slide lock screen, you can jump directly to the camera for a picture or pull down the notifications window to check for messages. When listening to music, you can even manage music tracks and see album art.

Home Screen Folders

Quickly access related apps right from the home screen by organizing apps and shortcuts into folders--just drag one app onto another to create a folder.

Multitasking

Multitasking is even easier and more visual in Android 4.0. The Recent Apps button lets you jump instantly from one task to another using the list in the System Bar. The list pops up to show thumbnail images of apps used recently--tapping a thumbnail switches to the app.

Voice Input

The new voice engine in Android 4.0 lets you dictate the text you want, for as long as you want, using the language you want. You can speak continuously for a prolonged time, even pausing for intervals if needed, and dictate punctuation to create correct sentences. As the voice input engine enters text, it underlines possible dictation errors in gray. After dictating, you can tap the underlined words to quickly replace them from a list of suggestions.

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network allows you to download photos, apps, and games in seconds and entire movies in minutes. LTE (or Long Term Evolution provides significantly increased upload and download speeds over 3G networks, as well as significantly reduced latency (or lag time). Verizon Wireless expects 4G LTE average data rates to be 5-12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2-5 Mbps on the uplink in real-world, loaded network environments.

With these blazing fast speeds, you'll be able to stream HD movies without the annoyance of constant pauses to buffer the video stream--as well as quickly download HD-quality movies right to your phone in minutes. Additionally, you'll be able to download a new song file in about 4 seconds or upload a photo to your favorite social networking site in about 6 seconds.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE mobile broadband network will also redefine the mobile office for business users. Business applications that used to require wired networks will be untethered forever, allowing you maximized productivity and efficiency while you're out of the confines of your office. Enhanced security lets you tap into most VPN networks with less waiting, and faster responsiveness enables you to upload 10 MB presentations back to your team in less than 25 seconds.

In areas serviced only by 3G, you can expect download speeds of 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps and upload speeds of 500 to 800 Kbps in Mobile Broadband coverage area.

Connectivity

  • Ultra-fast 4G LTE connectivity via the Verizon Wireless 4G Mobile Broadband network, with expected download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps. Where the 4G LTE network is unavailable, the phone will connect with the Verizon Wireless 3G network.

Business user...
Background: I am a Droid early adopter (bought the original Moto Droid the day it was launched). I've owned the original Droid, the Droid X and the Droid X2. My wife switched from her Blackberry Storm to the Droid Pro. My son owns Incredible 2. Daughter's own iPhone 4 and Samsung Fascinate.I've been waiting for Verizon to launch a high-end bloat free (no Touchwiz, SenseUI or motoblur) since I owned the original Droid hoping that a pure device would improve interface performance. This phone doesn't disappoint. It is fast. At first launch the phone re-installed most apps that were on my X2. Once I set it up with corporate email (Touchdown app), personal email (Gmail), music library (iSyncr wireless) and logged in/setup all apps that typically ran in background on my X2 (weather, Pulse, Twitter, Facebook etc) I tested the response of the UI. No delay, no hesitation, great video response fast all around experience. Been using it for a few days at this point. Not once have I...

Quick review of the Epic 4g Touch
- Updated 10/19/11 - This is by far the best phone I have ever used. My previous phone is a EVO 4g so luckily i got renewed after a year. This is my own personal review based on experiences with my EVO 4g, my friends's ip4 and this Epic 4g touch.By far, Epic 4g touch wins by a mile. Initial impressions: 1. Its light as hell!!!!! it feels like you're holding a toy or a dummy phone (this may be good or bad depending on the user, it's really good for me) 2. The size is good enough for me but then again it depends on how big your hands are. 3. The colors are very very VERY vibrant, it really stands out from all angles. 4. It is silky smooth, SILKY SMOOTH. the OS has no lag at all, i tried a pinch to zoom test for the ip4 and epic 4g touch and surprisingly, the epic 4g is so much better. 5. Video camera is on par if not better with Ip4. 6. Touchwiz has a lot of nice functions and the widgets are very...

I love it!
Got this phone on the 16th. Here are a few things that I like and dislike: likes: 1. speed 2. screen 3. build (feels like a toy? are you kidding me?) this phone is so light in weight but don't confuse that as a poor build quality. If you want a phone built like a tank and weighs like one by all means choose a different phone. finish and fit are beautifully done! 4. camera (8m + LED flash). The pictures are sharp and focused. I like using retro camera and little photo. Even the front camera is awesome. 5. Gingerbread is cool and stable (no force close so far) 6. Google integration. Flawless 7. GOOD and corporate email integration. Flawless 8. GPS and Google Map. works perfectly. 9. audio (had to adjust the EQ to make it right)I'm rockin' 10. wifi (works great) 11. print Screen!!!! yes!! (home+power) finally! 12. cold boot time... fast (this is handy when you change out the battery and power...

Absolutely blown away by this phone!
I got this phone the day it was released via overnight shipping and have been using it ever since (about a week now)- I have been utterly impressed with the device! I switched from a rather dated and rooted original Motorola Droid on Verizon and I couldn't be happier.Pros:-The Super AMOLED (Active matrix organic light emitting diode), which is the newest kind of display technology, absolutely blows any other display away in terms of contrast and color saturation. The 4.5'' diagonal screen on this beast is an absolute pleasure to look at, and it's more efficient than an LCD to boot! I've read a lot of reviews whining about the marginally lower resolution on this screen compared to qHD screens; what a joke, this screen makes every other device around it look washed out and dated... dead serious- you'll completely forget about resolution the moment you power it up- and it has far superior response times!-Processor- underneath the gorgeous screen lies a...

Samsung Innovations

Despite being one of the thinnest smartphones on the market--measuring just 0.38 inches thin-- the Epic 4G Touch is packed with a bevy of Samsung technological innovations and exclusive features.

  • The 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display has a 50 percent higher pixel density, resulting in excellent textual clarity and even better graphics. The Super AMOLED Plus display is also razor thin, helping to reduce the overall size of the Epic 4G Touch, and it also helps to reduce power consumption by 18 percent.
  • Samsung's TouchWiz user interface provides superior multitasking and customization for an enhanced visual and intuitive smartphone experience. Features include direct access to music player's controls and to missed events, calls, and messages from the lock screen.
  • The 1.2 GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos processor includes five graphics cores (compared to just one in many of today's dual-core mobile processors), which helps both multitasking and Internet browsing as well as smooth Full HD 1080p video rendering.

Mobile Entertainment

Samsung's Media Hub enables you to rent or purchase movies and TV shows within seconds watch from the convenience of anywhere. With Media Hub's progressive downloading feature, you can start watching your content almost immediately as the rest of the file downloads to the Infuse 4G. Plus, all Media Hub content can be shared among five Media Hub-enabled devices on the same account.

Ultra-fast 1.2 GHz dual-core processor perfect for gaming and viewing HD videos.

Super svelte at just 0.38 inches thin.

Down to Business

While the Epic 4G Touch is ideal for mobile multimedia, it's also packed full of top-of-the-line enterprise functionality as well as access to corporate e-mail (with full support of Exchange ActiveSync). The on-device encryption function offers a hardware-accelerated algorithm for superior performance. Other enterprise features include:

  • Cisco AnyConnect Virtual Private Network (VPN) for reliable, easy-to-deploy encrypted network connectivity.
  • Cisco WebEx Meetings allows you to meet anywhere at anytime in a secure environment. View documents and applications, plus share screens with live annotations. You can also choose to chat privately or with everyone in the meeting.
  • Sybase Afaria mobile device management, which provides over-the-air deployment of software as well as remote device wipe should it become lost.

What's in the Box

Samsung Epic 4G Touch handset, rechargeable battery, charger, USB cable, quick start guide

Android Gingerbread Operating System

The Epic 4G Touch runs the Android 2.3 operating system (dubbed Gingerbread)--the fastest version of Android available for smartphones yet. It features a cleaner, more refined interface with new icons, improved top notification bar, and more intuitive navigation.

Multitasking in Gingerbread allows you the ability to run more than one app at a time. If you're playing a game, you can easily switch to an incoming email and then switch back to the game without losing your place. And like the previous version of Android ("Froyo"), Gingerbread provides support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for access to the full Web.

A new onscreen keyboard makes it easier to type thanks to additional spacing between the keys and larger font sizes. And the more you use the keyboard, the easier typing will be as the enhanced suggest feature records previous input history to make better suggestions.

The Epic 4G Touch also brings one-touch access to the popular Google mobile services you use every day, including Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Calendar, Picasa, and YouTube. It also provides easy access to both personal and corporate e-mail, calendars, and contacts supported by Exchange Server and Gmail. And through Android Market, you'll get access to thousands of useful applications, widgets, and fun games to download and install on your phone, with many more apps being added every day.

Sprint's Blazing Fast 4G Network

Sprint 4G offers a faster wireless experience than any other U.S. national wireless carrier, and Sprint is the only national carrier offering wireless 4G service in 32 markets (with more coming online soon). Sprint 4G delivers download speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G, giving this mobile phone the fastest data speeds of any U.S. wireless device available today. As of August 2011, Sprint offers 4G service in 71 markets in 28 states.

Sprint 4G services dramatically increase download speeds for photos, videos and large files. You can download a favorite song, picture, sitcom or large video in seconds, not minutes, or watch live streaming video--all while on the go, not just from the home or office. Additionally, businesses can benefit from the fast connectivity speeds of 4G. Some examples include:

Great Phone with Great Price
when i first thought about purchasing a phone from amazon i was, to say the least, skeptical. with all the amazon phone buying horror stories going around i felt as if this could easily happen to me as well. Looking for an older model bb new was the easy part but finding the best seller was the hard part. let me tell you Ebargain100 is 100% legit. i purchased this curve on Dec 1st and within 3 days with regular shipping i got it which was surprising bc it wasn't scheduled to arrive until the 8th. right off the bat the packaging was great. The package included a custom Blackberry box and a car charger adaptor! i had no idea it came with it so that was a nice surprise. When i opened the bb box i found the brand new 8530 with the cd, manual, usb charger/wall charger, the official bb leather case and the bb headphones. Everything was brand new no wear on any items. i was kinda wondering why the box wasn't the official bb box so out of curiosity i called the Ebargain100 number. she...

Very pleased!!!
I am very skeptical about purchasing cell phones over the internet, especially Sprint since they are still using ESN's. However, I had no choice as my daughter breaks every phone she gets within months. The phone is working great and is pretty durable. I will keep this seller in mind for future purchases.

A great cell phone with no contract
My wife and I had Verizon for about 6 years, then I found out about Boost Mobile. We bought two Boost Mobile Blackberry Curve 8530 phone, and I must say I am impressed. In certain supermarkets we cannot get a signal with any Verizon phone, but we haven't had that problem with the Boost Mobile Blackberry Curve. The audio quality is better than any cell phone I or my wife have ever owned.

Good for the money - 4 stars - poor battery life
This is an entry level fairly recent (as of 2011) Blackberry. I am a Blackberry user (10 years) and know blackberry. I have had Blackberries on Verizon, Sprint, ATT and T-Mobile. I also have a state-of-the-art T-Mobile 9780 so it's safe to say I know what I'm talking about. This model is good for the money. Especially if you can pick it up for around $150. It's bound to go lower as it gets older, more used models show up, and the new Boost Samsung Galaxy Prevail (Android 22) gets out and gets popular. The Android does more, and is $10 less a month on Boost since it does not require a Blackberry Plan that is an additional $10 a month. I've had this BoostBerry for two days and have really run it through the paces. The screen is no where near as sharp as my 9780, but you can't expect it to be. It's much harder to surf the web. You really have to use the ENLARGE option to read most web content. It does play certain videos you can find on the internet, but does not play...

    Awesome
Where can I start? This is interesting phone. Literally a mini speedy tablet. This is my first android device so this came off a bit complex just trying to navigate. The exterior is totally plastic and unlike the black galaxy epic tough s2 this one does not have a textured back so that was a little disappointing. The performance is the fastest I have ever seen on a phone so I'm really glad i got this instead of the HTC EVO 3d. Every one around me has an htc phone so i wanted something different.Pros: Slim 4.5 Inch screen extremely fast processor great battery life unique color 8 mp camera with flash 16 gb internal memory fun apps pro/cons: Lightwieght (in my mind I equate heavier phone with better quality) many preloaded sprint apps cons: plastic casing Overall I am loving this phone I would definitely suggest buying a case to put this in because if it slipped out my hand it would damage...
