Another hit in one of my favorite series!
Sammy Keyes is one of my favorite series of books, right up there with Harry Potter. I started reading them in grade school, and even though I'm a high school junior now, I'm still addicted to these! I was so excited when I heard this was coming out that I went and purchased an eBook yesterday (the day it came out).Yeah, I was just a little excited.And for good reason-this book, the 12th out of 20 planned books, does not disappoint. Sammy Keyes is just sneaking up the fire escape at the Senior Highrise where she lives-as usual-when an unexpected old guy runs into her. Sammy finds out what scaring someone to death literally means when the guy has a heart attack right on the stairs. To add to this, Sammy's obese neighbor Mrs. Wedgewood has fallen, and oh yeah, the guy told Sammy to throw his bundles of cash into the bushes.Well, Sammy can't just let bundles of $20 bills be hidden in some bushes. She feels terrible about "killing" the man (even though...

a great read for any age
Another great read by Wendelin Van Draanen. I am a grandmother who really enjoys the Sammy Keyes books. I was introduced to them by my grandaughter who while reading a part of one out loud, put so much character into it, I couldn't wait to read the whole book. I have since bought the whole series and can't wait for the next issue. I read them and then pass them on to my daughter and granddaughters on down the line until we all have finished them. We recommend them to all kids, and adults alike.

Fun movie with great music!
This movie is fun to watch and has great music throughout the movie! Although it's the 3rd Bring It On DVD it stands on it's own for an interesting storyline. The street dancing combined with cheering makes it more believable for the music video cheer competition. Also the acting is really good. It's Cheertastic!
I don't know why I like this movie. Demographically speaking, the target audience should be 10-18 year old girls, yet somehow I still find myself watching it almost every time it comes on ABC Family. It's filled with ridiculous terms like "cheerocracy" and "cheertator", it's slightly racist in its overly stereotyped portrayal of inner city schools (Shabooya...Sha Sha.... Shabooya??) , and it's about cheerleading. So why watch it? Really, I can't say, but I have indeed watched the entire Bring it On Trilogy in one day, shameful as it is to say. I also saw the original in the theaters. I should probably erase this review soon, I feel it's destroying my credibility as a respectable reviewer. But anyways, I suppose I have to recommend this movie. I enjoy it everytime it's on, although I couldn't tell you why.

Decent Teen Cheerleading Flick
The third movie in the Bring It On franchise Bring It On All Or Nothing proves to be another entertaining teen cheerleading comedy. Hayden Panetteire stars as Britney. Britney is a rich popular head cheerleader who attends Pacific Vista High School when her life changes drastically. Her father's job situation changes and she and her family move to Crenshaw. The move means bye bye to her quarterback boyfriend and her beloved high school and her head cheerleading spot. Before she says goodbye to her old school once and for all Britney promises her old squad members that she will never cheer again.Suddenly Britney finds herself a student at Crenshaw Heights High School. The fish out of water thing goes into full swing starting with Britney's first day. She quickly notices that she is the one of the only white girls at the whole school and before she can even enter the building she has a run in with Camille (Solange Knowles) and her friends. Since that day 6 years ago, I have watched her fall in love with a great guy (hi Chris), get married, have two beautiful little babies (hi Cooper and Emory), pay off every last penny of their $43,000 of debt, buy a house, all while working through... This week I knew I wanted to write a quick blog post about this when she and her husband pulled up in front of our house in their "new" $14,000 van they bought this past weekend WITH CASH. Not only is she out of debt and paying for vehicles with cash, she has a great marriage because of the team she and her husband became through the whole process. after all, she was doomed to a life of singleness (not the good kind -- the kind where you think nobody wants you), would never be able to stand up tall around people who "had it together," and certainly would not be able to do fun things like... Within a year or two of our meeting, she married a great guy (UT fan, but still a great guy). If you are in a similar place where she was years ago, I'd encourage you to come up with a plan, be inspired, get a quick touchdown, and then start smacking your debt in the face. Yes, it had a lot of practical financial wisdom that she could glean but even just as important, had story after story of people who had gone before her and killed their debt as well. I'm not talking about an in-depth plan, but just something written out on paper that could act as a map of sorts to show her what she should do. This plan could take most of the thinking out of the financial stuff for her. We worked on this together, but she really set her goals in front of her, one little step at a time. She could come up with it and then -- just like a recipe for cooking -- follow it step by step. They put every little penny they had toward this debt and began punching it straight in the face. That day was 6 years ago.
