High quality belt for a great price!
Very comfortable belt, the best I've worn yet! I like to wear mine ever so slightly loose off of my waist, but had a problem with my previous heavy weight belt coming untied after a few minutes of sparring. This belt is the real deal! It's sturdy and trustworthy for plenty of punishment just like a heavy belt, but lighter and MUCH more comfortable so you can count on it being a good fit. I had a guy try to pull my belt to get my gi out for a submission the other day, but he just couldn't seem to loosen the belt up enough to even start to set it up! You can expect your uniform to not impede you as much with these belts, giving you an edge. A good investment for anyone looking for better mobility and quality, you won't be disappointed(The belts look pretty cool too!). Very happy with my purchase, also friendly, helpful customer service.

Great Belt
For a belt that isn't rated as heavy duty, these belts are about as heavy duty as you can find! I ordered this as a sample to check out, but I am so impressed with it, I think I am going to switch over to Piranha Gear Belts for my students. These are very good looking and perfectly functional belts for the mats.

Good quality belt for a nice price
The belt is thick but not too stiff. It loosens up even more after wearing and washing a few times. I have owned one for a fewmonths and wear it twice a week with a Jiu Jitsu Gi. This belt stays tied most of the time even after rolling sessions. It's a good deal and reliable company.

This is a Piranha Gear medium weight uniform belt. Intended to be used for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a black sleeve on one end for rank stripes (the black belt has a red sleeve).
These are nicer belts with 9 rows of through stitching and are about 1 3/4" wide. Length is adjusted to fit your uniform size.
This is our most popular BJJ style belt since they tend to stay tied really well, but we do carry a "heavyweight" style belt for people that want a thicker "judo" type belt instead.
Sizes are shown in both "Brazilian" (A1, A2, A3, etc.) and the "Western" equivalent (3, 4, 5, etc.), but the Brazilian sizes and Western "single digit" sizes are not the same thing. We include both types of size numbers for your convenience, but keep in mind a size "A3" corresponds to a size "5", etc. Check out the uniform size charts if you need to do a conversion.

Worth the $3 for sure..
I joined a BJJ school (Gracie) last week and did my first class on Friday. I have no grappling experience, and around 3 years experience in other (striking) martial arts- Kung Fu, Muay Thai, etc. I realized that I'd definitely need an overview of this grappling thing before getting started. I bought this today, a little unsure based on the reviews and price, but was quite pleasantly surprised. I figure with school fees, buying a gi or two and a few other pieces of training gear, I could throw $3 away on this if it wasn't any good. It's a short read (read it in about an hour) but I thought it covered a very logical group of subjects. I figure I came away with about 20 useful tips, worth well beyond 3 bucks. Especially the tips relating to (very roughly) planning out your Jiu Jitsu "career" (i.e. gi vs. no-gi, belt advancement, etc.). I'd hate to get 300 classes into BJJ and then realize I'd been focusing on the wrong things at the start. I think after reading this I have...

Every Grappler Should Own A Copy
This book really is something that should be handed out at BJJ academies as far as I'm concerned. When I first began training, I had absolutely NO idea what to expect from training bjj, even though I wrestled in high school and watched a class to get an idea. It's a totally foreign experience, even if you're a fan of the UFC, etc. Actually getting on the mat and training with people is something very different. All of the author's advice is sound and accurate and if you listen, could save even some experienced vets a fair amount of trouble. Some of the most interesting points the author makes are in regards to training and ego. I saw a lot of ego at play when I trained and I suffered from it myself as well. Using technique instead of power, training different positions, understanding that there is politics at play in each different academy you attend, these are important topics. This book is really an A-Z of things you need to consider when...

Great book if you are thinking about starting grappling!
This isn't a 'How To' Grapple book, but more of a 'Is Grappling for you?' book.It will give you enough information to confidently find a school to train at, and give you some reasonable expectations on the things that can happen in class to a newbie (eg. the revenge tap). There are also countless good tips for someone (such as myself) who is new to grappling. If you are thinking about taking up BJJ or Wrestling, but aren't sure what to expect, this is a good book for you!

Lee Chomchavalit
This belt is durable with plenty of stitching to take to the mat and also as much abuse you can throw at it. I spend a lot of hours on the mat and by far these belts are the best, they take a beating without coming apart or fraying. There also easy on your pocket book. I will definitely order from these guys again.

Great belt
This belt has worked out great, it does not come off during grappling and it is sturdy enough to take the abuse during the long hours of grappling. I would definetly reccomend this belt to anyone who practices Jiu-Jitsu.

stays tied?
the belt itself is well constructed. I've had mine for about 2 months and I try not to wash it too often, but I roll about 6 hours a week and belts get dirty. I've noticed some of the stitching on the belt is coming undone after 4-5 washes (in 2 months), but nothing awful. As far as the belt staying tied better than others... I can't say. This is my first belt, but I have to retie about every 5-10 min. during techniques and after every sparring session.

I was actually very surprised to see a heavy duty thick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu style white belt was included with this very affordable Gi. I truly expected a standard karate style white belt, it was a pleasant surprise. I hope you enjoy this thorough review of Martial Arts Supplies, Tatami Nova White Jiu Jitsu Gi. A high quality affordable Gi retailing for $79. I proudly hang this Gi in my closet and it is the first Gi I reach for when I’m heading out to my BJJ classes. After opening the shipping bag I found the Gi plus the belt were folded very neatly inside another heavy duty plastic bag. The initial reaction of my teammates was an overwhelming approval of my new Gi. Senior belts, including instructors, commented on the excellent texture of the weave and stated that it was soft yet very strong. Throughout my trial period I did feel inclined to wash it in hot water two more times to get the size exactly where it needs to be. After that I have washed it several times more in cold water and hung dry, it has not shrunk at all in any of the... The only negative I have to say about this Gi is that I did not buy one sooner. After trying it on it was obvious that the Gi was over-sized so I put it to wash in hot water and to machine dry hot as well. If you like a patch-less and plain kimono but still want a high quality product, then the Nova Jiu Jitsu Gi is for you. The Tatami brand name holds high regards in my gym and everyone recognizes that the manufacturer’s standards are set very high. The attention to detail was very impressive, triple-stitched seams, reinforced knee pads, heavy duty rope draw string and thick rubberized canvas collar.
Very few martial arts styles can compete with Brazilian jiu-jitsu on the ground, which is why so many folks are figuring out to examine it. The brazilian jiu jitsu belt cageside bjj belts blue/purple/brown/black shipped quick and arrived in an... Normal excellent brazilian jiu jitsu belt cageside bjj belts blue/purple/brown/black fits perfectly affordable shipping and marvelous price. I like the brazilian jiu jitsu belt cageside bjj belts blue/purple/brown/black and counsel it to anyone looking for one. I am well blissful with the carrier and brazilian jiu jitsu belt cageside bjj belts blue/purple/brown/black that I received.
Andre Terencio: The Brazil 021 Project BJJH: Hi André, so lets talk about Brazil 021’s social project, why and how did it all begin. A while after the project started I went back to Brazil and saw the lack of conditions these guys had and the abysmal difference between my academy in Chicago and the Borel one, this had a really big impact on me, I even cried at the time when it... André Terêncio , also known as André “Negão” is one of the leaders of the Brazil 021 jiu jitsu academy, a team with strong roots in Rio de Janeiro, and also in United States, namely in Houston, Texas and Chicago, Illinois where André and his wife... When we took this new project we knew of the responsibility we were taking in, we have a leading sports figure at the helm (Hannette Staack) and when she is in Brazil she visits all the social projects, she gives lectures and trains with all her... Terêncio, who is also one of the most respected referees in the IBJJF roster got together with BJJ Heroes to discuss the developments of his most recent endeavour, the launching of “Brazil 021 Projects”. Many of our students who lived in these burgs regularly commented on the great potential for a jiu jitsu academy in this particular place called Morro do Borel (one of Rio de Janeiro’s most notorious slum), so we decided to give it a go with a few... BJJH: I saw the video on youtube (below) where you mention that a few of your American students that came to your jiu jitsu camp in Rio had a chance to see the Borel project. We got one of our black belts teaching there and not only did the group grow really fast, we also saw a positive impact in the community.
As for being different I don’t know I guess they’re totally hand made by me. Do you plan on making the gi string in the different belt colors. Where you train, your instructors, your rank, how long you’ve been training, why you started training, and how BJJ has impacted your life. Where did you come up with the idea to make a gi string look like a belt. I’ve had requests for the different belt colors but I haven’t made them yet because I couldn’t find good material for Purple and Brown. I was already repairing my own Gis so I decided to try to make Gi strings to replace my bad ones. It’s quite simple I went to the store, bought some different fabrics and tried different colors.

So, BJJ is a descendent of jujutsu, but they are not the same thing. Nope. Jiu-Jitsu black belt, NOT BJJ. Novice at BJJ, but with a great trainer (Machado). Yes. He is a black belt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Black Belt in Kenpo Karate(something we share).
Even if you ignore his great record, and phenomenal hands, Glover has a black belt in BJJ and has used it to make a statement in numerous submission wrestling trials. Oh, and he also holds wins over former UFC vets Ricco Rodriguez and Marvin Eastman,

Rocha is a BJJ black belt with five of his victories coming from submission, he is 7-2 overall. Brookins is only a purple belt, but he has shown good jiu-jitsu skills in his matches. He has eight submission victories, with an overall record of 12-4.
