Excellent!!!
I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with a sense of shock and awe. The Girl who played with Fire left me wanting more. After reading the first two books I saw the Swedish movies with english subtitles. They did great justice to the books and sanitized them a bit to reduce the shock factor. I was not disappointed by this movie and was especially happy with the English dubbing that relieved me of the distraction of reading subtitles. Action, adventure, intrigue, government conspiracies, suspense, well developed characters, great plot.....it was an excellent movie and the 2 1/2 hours flew by. My only regret is that Stieg Larsson died before completing the 10 book series he had planned. I have heard that there is a fourth book and I really hope this is true. I need another Lizbeth and Bloomquist fix.

Very well done
My only minor complaint was that the English dialogue was little stilted and wooden at times, but that was very minor, and other than that I thought it was a very well done, well written adaptation of a very good book. Noomi Rapace was simply the right actress for the part, she owned it.

Hours of spaghetti western nirvana
If you enjoy spag westerns, you're going to love this box set! Start with "A Bullet for the General." terrific quality
If you've been exploring the world of spaghetti westerns at all, you've no doubt come across some pretty poor transfers. Stuff obviously made from worn out, scratched up and dirty film. You often have to be philosophical about it -- if you want to see some of these old movies, it's a matter of putting up with the ragged quality or do without. This set from Anchor Bay, on the other hand, is really something. They have done a fantastic job of restoring and transferring. The extra features are really nice as well -- interviews with Tomas Milian and Franco Nero. None of these movies is going to replace The Good the Bad & the Ugly as my all time favorite movie, but I really enjoyed getting to see them. I highly recommend this set.

Garfield, his 9 lives
I don't really remember much about the other two specials on this disk, I personally have been waiting a long time for Garfield, his nine live to come out. His lives rang from being a prehistoric cave-cat, the beloved pet of an Egyptian pharaoh, the third he belongs to a girl named Chloe and they live in a "wonderland" like garden, the forth he belongs to a court musician, the next he's a stunt cat, then is my favorite life (he also says 6 must be his lucky number leading me to believe this is his favorite life too.) In which he is given to a little girl named Sara for her eight birthday along with piano lessons, he grows up with her as she grows into adulthood and become a piano player. The end of this story has always made me cry from the first time I saw it to this day. (and I'm 21 now) In life seven Garfield is a lab test subject that escapes and actually gets away in a most interesting manner. This DVD is not weird, just misunderstood
I recently recieved this DVD as a gift and was pleased with it in general. I rated it only as 4 stars simply due to the quality of animation- which was of the norm in the late eighties on up to today.For those who feel this DVD is too "weird" or "dark" for children please take into account two things, first being that the "9 Lives" was actually revised for television and differs from the book which had much harsher language and some content that is actually bloody, where as "Babes and Bullets" first appeared in "9 Lives" the book as one of the lives and then as it's own more light-hearted and comedic book of the same title-the latter of which is the backbone for this animated special.As for taking these away from younger viewers who may not "get" all the jokes, you're missing the point. You shouldn't be keeping the young one from watching but rather watching it with them. This is why some of the gags are more adult in nature and why these cartoons originally...

Ok...I am a big Garfield fan and I loved the Garfield Holiday celebrations DVD that came out last year because those were some of my all-time faves..but...while the toons on this DVD are very good I'd like to see it more in the $10 price range, especially considering you get some 9 hours of material on the Garfield and Friends boxed sets for just over $30 while this DVD is just two hours. Oh well...you get two 30 minute Garfield toons and one hour long toon along with a Strawberry Shortcake trailer."Garfield's Nine Lives" is an hour-long Garfield special originally show in 1988. We tested several different bullet types from solids to jacketed bullets in order to determine the accuracy potential at distance. The targets are arranged in a way that can easily be considered a UKD target, even though the ranges were readily available too us. Because they were placed out among the natural terrain it was very different from being placed on a square range. The initial phase of the test took place in the LV desert using the Acoustic Chronograph from Josh & Francis, this test was to feature a second acoustic unit however the operator of that unit was unable to attend due to a medical emergency. We started off the week with the Gunsite XLR class instructed by CoryT and later were joined by instructor Mike Hughes to assist in the bullet test. After the initial briefing we headed to the 300 yard range to check zero, calibrate our scopes and get an initial drop number at 300 yards. This was designed as a starting point so when it came time to calibrate our system at distance we would be in the ballpark, as calibration started the next day at 600m. One area of focus is the primary differences between shooting inside 1000 yards and shooting beyond 1000 meters. As discussed in the previous thread regarding the 338 Bullet Test, part 2 took place at Gunsite the week of March 26th. We had 3 large target boards constructed and they featured a 12″ POA using the standard Gunsite style paper target. The objective of this test was to get an idea of the potential accuracy of the bullets at distance. We were not going to be shooting oversized targets, or rocks in the desert, but target that meant something. This is not a beginners class and luckily we had great group of students which assisted in moving the class along.
