A must-have for enthusiasts
I originally checked out a battered, near-death copy of this book from my local library for some research. I was so impressed, I ordered my own copy for my personal library. The photos are absolutely gorgeous, with detailed shots of live-fire in historically accurate environments and excellent photos of the disassembled weapons as well. I was also very pleased to see the choices made in subject matter. In addition to the commonly documented weapons like the MP-40 series, MG-34 and MG-42 GPMGs and the much-touted MP-43/StG-44, this book also showcased the Mauser Schnellfeuer automatic pistol and both models of the FG-42 paratrooper rifle. Being something of an FG-42 lover, I was quite ecstatic at the amount of coverage lavished on these oft-overlooked weapons. For sheer photographic beauty and good research into the development and utilization of German WWII-era automatic weapons, this book is the gold standard. It may not pack as much detail on individual weapon types as a more...

Very good, Bruce is an Expert
It is very interesting, how an author who only done one other book specifically on guns can make such a good and realistic book on the subject. This book not only gives you a scence of knowledge about the guns after you read the book, but it also gives you a look into the furture of guns. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about guns. It is also interesting to note that German weapons have forever changed the course of gun manufactuering. Overall, I think it is one of the best books on guns that I have ever read.

Great Photos
Each page is filled with large, sometimes full page, color photos of actual German automatic weapons of WWII. Also shown in color are close up photos explaining, and depicting the operation, as well as "field stripping" of each weapon. Due to the great photography, this book serves well as a valuable adjunct to the library of any collector/owner of WWII German smallarms, and militaria.

Product Description

For nearly fifty years the hard-hitting, mobile Browning Automatic Rifle, or BAR, served in US infantry units as a light squad automatic "base of fire" weapon, providing quick bursts of concentrated fire. It was developed in response to the central dilemma of infantry combat in World War I - the need for a squad-level weapon that could suppress emplaced machine-gun positions. Designed by the renowned firearms manufacturer John M. Browning, the BAR could be fired from the shoulder or the hip while on the move. Unfortunately, initial production difficulties and commanders' reluctance to feed the new weapon piecemeal into the front line meant it was September 1918 before the BAR saw combat.

In the interwar years US forces used the BAR across the world, from China to Nicaragua; versions equipped the armed forces of Belgium, Sweden and Poland. It also became a favorite of notorious gangsters like Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, who prized its ability to punch through police armored cars as though they were made of cardboard. US lawmen rapidly acquired the BAR for themselves, with the Colt R 80 "Monitor" variant becoming the official fighting rifle of the FBI from 1931.

At the outset of World War II the US armed forces decided to adapt the BAR for a light machine gun role. The BAR was not without its flaws; it was heavy and difficult to dismantle and reassemble, and it didn't cope well with sustained fire. Nevertheless, the BAR saw action in every major theater of World War II and went on to be used in Korea and in the opening stages of the Vietnam War. Brigadier General S.L.A. Marshall's pioneering study of men in combat revealed the tremendous psychological boost that the BAR gave to a squad in the field; Marshall discovered that riflemen were so glad to have a BAR in their midst that they readily volunteered to carry extra ammunition for their gunner.

Featuring arresting first-hand accounts, specially drawn full-color artwork and close-up photographs, many in color, this lively study offers a vivid portrait of this powerful, long-lived and innovative weapon that saw service with US and other forces across the world for much of the twentieth century. Haters Gonna Hate
I wasn't going to buy this gun after reading its reviews. The complaints I've read about the noise the gun makes & the weak stream it fires... It sounded like a bad deal. But then... Clips. CLIPS.I ended up at a toy store w/ a friend and, utilizing an awesome buy 1 get 1 half off deal, we decided to give them a shot. Thoughts? Totally worth it.No, it's not going to blow people away during summer water gun battles. It also is not designed for any real, ranged combat. But for up close, standard water gun fights? Rockstar y'all. Stock up on clips & a spare set of batteries & everyone shall feel jealous, wanting your modern, water war wagin' machine. Plus, it's fun! I've been practicing dropping the clip out w/ my middle finger & just letting it fall to the ground, Matrix style.I hope that Nerf continues to advance this line of weaponry, increasing the range of clip-based weapons, but for the time being I'm happy. Me & my crew are packing...

It works well!!!!
I bought two of these for my kids 3 days ago. The box says they shoot 25 feet, this is true. I disagree with the other review on here mine do not lose water from the barrel at all. These are batter operated guns that have a continuous stream. You are not going to get the same distance or power of a pump gun but that is to be expected. They are perfect for my 4 year old daughter, who has had trouble operating pump guns, and my 8 year old son. The changeable clips are very nice. I think this is an awesome product, it has an interchangeable stock with a Nerf gun (stock not included) and the rails on top hold a sight from a Nerf gun too. This is a very cool collaboration of the two companies. I would recommend this to any water gun lovers out there.P.S. Get rechargeable batteries for it!

Great battery operated soaker!
The Thunderstorm is great for a single handed battery operated soaker. The clip system works great and makes reloading very easy. Clips can be purchased on amazon for as little as $5 Bucks. The stream is small, but consistent (never stops as long as trigger is held) and has a pretty decent amount of force. Great for kids and pools.

Buy Automatic Weapons

If a person discovers their gun is stolen because they haven’t checked on it for a period of months, they shouldn’t be allowed to own any weapons, since they’ve demonstrated that they aren’t capable of sparing a few moments a day to check and make... You sell a gun to someone without arranging a background check or registering the sale so you are no longer listed as responsible for the weapon, you get slapped with a hefty fine and lose your other weapons. People buy automatic weapons because they’re fun to shoot, not to defend their homes. If that untracked sale leads to the gun being used in the commission of a crime, you’re held criminally responsible for enabling the weapon to be used in the crime. Ownership of automatic weapons should be allowed, but home storage forbidden. This will help keep the streets safer, since it’ll be a bit difficult to remove the weapons from the range without arranging such.

Imagine if the only two types of people that had access to handguns or automatic weapons were the military or the police. I’ve posed this question myself a few times in my posts over the years and I’ve found that either there are people that would be okay with it or people that go shitty bonkers over not having the right to walk around like the terminator. Imagine him having to go through a process like applying for a line of credit from a bank to buy a gun. But nothing will change and not too long after that another disgruntled person will buy a gun…and more people will die. But I’d be willing to risk that, as long as the millions of handguns and automatic weapons were off the street. Imagine if we lived in a country where buying a gun was as difficult as getting a line of credit from a bank. When you apply for a line of credit from a bank it will check your credit scores, check your outstanding debt and your debt history going back years. Just walk into a gun store, present valid ID, fill out a form, wait a few days and voilà, you have a gun. According to media reports , One Goh legally purchased the gun he used to murder 7 people. It’s just so easy to buy a gun in the United States. If the person accused of shooting these people purchased his firearm legally, he waited a total of 240 hours, a minimum of 10 days in California. Now imagine a disgruntled former student of a school planning to do mass harm to his former classmates and school staff. they just couldn’t own handguns or automatic weaspons. The inmates have no weapons, are guarded 24 hours a day, and are given the bare essentials.

(2) transfers a pistol or semiautomatic military-style assault weapon to a person under the age of 18 who has made a false statement in order to become a transferee, if the transferor knows or has reason to know the transferee has made the false... The short answer is, in general, you don’t need a purchase permit to buy a gun from a private person, but, unless you are 21, the gun, regardless of where you buy it, cannot be semi-automatic. doesn’t that Imply that I can buy a semi automatic weapon if 18 or over. “(1) transfers a pistol or semiautomatic military-style assault weapon to a person under the age of 18 in violation of subdivisions 1 to 13.

The weapons sold at gun shows are the same ones sold at your local gun store. Californian-turned-Al-Qaeda-spokesman Adam Gadahn just published a new video, where he “calls on Muslims living in America to carry out deadly one-man terrorist acts using fully automatic weapons purchased at gun shows, and to target major... If you should get lucky and find a “fully automatic weapon” at a gun show, plan to invest months in getting it home. ” Because of these restrictions, “fully automatic weapons” cost about as much as a late model used car. You are more likely to find an unusual gun there, and they always have a large selection of old rare guns that are no longer in production. I have been to many gun shows and they do not sell full auto weapons to anyone. This is an example of the reach of anti gun propaganda spread buy the Democrats and their minions in the press. Your application must be approved by the “local chief of police, sheriff of the county, head of the State police, or State or local district attorney or prosecutor. Sales were severely curtailed in 1934, via the National Firearms Act , and restricted further by the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986. Here’s a few of the ATF requirements :. You have to apply to the ATF to transfer the firearm.
